Hit the Road!

“In general easy, simple shapes. We’ve been really in-spired and excited about Scandinavian design, dress, and overall aesthetic for a few seasons now and it seems that our customers like it too. Simple, pared-down, but generally oversized silhouettes. Really minimal. However, we do often go in the opposite direction with our Australian designers—and we love that stuff just as much. Print-heavy, bright, fun, and sexy. As for shoes, mainly boyish styles. White —I think it was important this year—but that was just the tip of the iceberg. I think it might be even more important next year along with nudes and naturals. Cool sage and cactus greens and blue-ish/ pink-ish 'water colors'would be awesome to find. Washed out and organic feeling. Would love to get a little more feminine in direction again; everything has been so menswear-inspired for so long… Natural Fibers- silks, cotton, linen. I don’t think we’ll do a lot of print- and if we do print it usually tends to be pretty low-contrast and abstract. I’m still really obsessed with lightweight leather pieces for Spring/ Summer in above-mentioned colors. I LOVE some leather.”

“A true mix of styles: Preppy, classy, romantic and ‘70s will all be important. But I think the ‘70s Indian inspiration...printed cashmere, long skirts, and su-per long dresses could be the main trend for next summer.”

Some Questions For Ladies We Love

“Crop tops with cleverly placed cutouts focus atten-tion on new, negative space. Tailoring is generat-ing a lot of excitement and our customers appreci-ate interesting details and mixed media. And we are always looking for that next ‘it’ bag and the perfect slouchy jean. Key trends and items include the tom-boy trend, bombers, long line blazers, denim and oversized lightweight knits. We’re looking at New Digital, bold colors, neon, sheer materials that are layered, strong graphics, translucent and mirrored effects. Game changing prints are here to stay.”

“Sporty styles combined with special pieces. Either sporty cuts with classic and preppy materials or el-egant shapes finished with e.g. lycra or neoprene. Camouflage, flower prints and bold all over prints are going to be in our focus as well! Webbed overlays, printed mesh and cut outs on tops will be again a big thing for us. Sportswear is expected to have a peak next season so we'll see more and more lycra shorts with fancy blouses and sneakers, for example. The sweater as an everyday piece is a must for every woman. Comfortable and stylish!”

"As the trend for streetwear goes from strength to strength I’ll be looking to update this trend for SS14 by working with brands that are moving forward with a more feminine aesthetic. Product-wise I will be mixing in florals, kimonos, and denim to sit back with the ASOS streetwear offer"

Etsy's success came from building a com-munity marketplace of independent cre-atives and since 2005, its design ca-ché has grown. Retail-ers worldwide have been shopping Etsy in search of unique piec-es that will set their shops apart from the competition and many of the designers who have built businesses on Etsy are looking to take their enterprises to a whole new level. With Etsy wholesale, the company has cre-ated a platform that enables the indepen-dent designers that are thriving on Etsy to launch wholesale businesses. The new Etsy Wholesale features the col-lections of close to 600 designers. Each designer manages their own showroom on the site, uploads their own imagery, infor-mation, product shots, pricing and billing terms, and shipping information. Addi-tionally, the site provides an independent designer all the tools he or she needs to launch and manage an online wholesale business – with linesheet building tools, inventory management, sales tracking, or-der processing and payment processing, streamlining the business of selling. Etsy has already partnered with leading specialty stores West Elm and Nordstrom and will invite notable names in the design

and fashion worlds to guest curate unique selections of prod-ucts from the roster of Etsy Wholesale par-ticipants. Retailers who pass a screening panel and are given access to

Etsy Wholesale are able to browse the site organically, or search for a specific mer-chandise category, brand name, item, or even location, if they’d like to meet some local makers, for example. Etsy plans to go way beyond just serving as an online B to B mall, however. Etsy is all about community building, and the new wholesale site provides educational materi-als and forums where designers and buyers can share information, ask questions or get business advice from other makers. Beau-tiful photography and content about select Etsy vendors round out the high end feel of the site. Capsule is excited to present the new Etsy Wholesale site to our community at our NY Women’s show. Visit the experience to learn more or check Etsy.me/capsule , now in Beta, to join the community.
