Human Capital Development SeminarThe Human Capital Development Seminar is to discuss the current challenges of human capital in OIC Member Countries that are pertinent for economic empowerment; find workable solutions to produce human capital in these countries that is competitive at global level; and come up with a roadmap to better align Islamic finance education and employment. IRTI is organizing the seminar in Jakarta on 13 May 2016, in partnership with the IDB Human Development Department, Special Assistance Department, and Bank Indonesia. The theme is “Producing Competitive Human Capital for Economic Empowerment”.

2. Seminar on Islamic Microfinance for Poverty Alleviation in OIC Member CountriesThe Seminar will be held on 14 and 15 May, 2016 in Bogor, Indonesia. This gathering will bring together financial services authorities, Islamic microfinance institutions, and experts to discuss the nature and importance of microfinance for poverty alleviation in the Member States of the OIC. The event will also launch the Islamic Microfinance for Poverty Alleviation and Capacity Transfer (IMPACT) Program, bringing together experts in the field of Islamic Microfinance to develop products and tools in order to disseminate best practices in the field.

The 11th IDB Global Forum on Islamic FinanceThe annual IDB Global Forum on Islamic Finance provides a platform for strategic policy dialogue towards the development of the Islamic financial services industry. The objective of this year’s forum, scheduled for 16 May 2016 in Jakarta, is to discuss the role of Islamic Finance in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in global perspectives, and to focus on major challenges for the Islamic financial sector for the achievement of SDGs in specific countries.
