2.1 SCOPE

It is the intention of these specifications to accomplish the work of installing a fully automatic computer controlled irrigation system which will operate in an efficient and satisfactory manner according to the best standards established for irrigation system operation. Not withstanding is the fact that these specifications may be deficient in setting forth a complete detailed description of the work to be done.

The irrigation system shall be constructed to the sizes, grades and locations shown on the plans and unless otherwise specified, shall include all labor, equipment, technical supervision, materials, and other component parts necessary for the irrigation system as indicated in the plans and specifications.

Work or materials of a minor nature which may not be shown on the plans or mentioned in the specifications but which may be reasonably assumed as necessary for the construction or completion of the project shall be performed by the contractor the same as if shown on the plans and/or mentioned in the specifications.

2.2 EXAMINATION AND VERIFICATION OF SITE AND DRAWINGS

It shall be the contractors' responsibility to report any conflicts or deviations between the drawings and specifications and the site. Failure to do so prior to the installation of equipment resulting in replacing and/or relocating equipment, shall be done at the contractors' expense.

It shall be recognized that the site may differ from the plans drawn for construction of the irrigation system. The contractor shall be prepared to adjust installation of the irrigation system so that it will properly irrigate the site.

2.3 PRECEDENCE OF DRAWINGS

All general and specific notes shown on the drawings shall take precedence over these specifications. Any thing contained in these specifications shall not be construed to conflict with any of the above rules and regulations or requirements of same. However, when these specifications and/or drawings call for or describe materials or workmanship of a better quality, higher standard, or larger size, specifications and/or drawings shall take precedence over the requirements of said rules and regulations.

2.6 PERMITS Any permits for the installation or construction of any of the work included under this contract, which are required by any of the legally constituted authorities having jurisdiction, shall be obtained and paid for by the contractor, each at the proper time. The contractor shall also arrange for and pay all costs in connection with any inspections and examinations required by these authorities.

Where removal of sod is impractical, area is to be brought to grade and reseeded as per Owner.

Should rock be encountered during the excavation of trenches that would render refusal by a “580 Case” backhoe or equal, the contractor shall immediately notify the Owner to determine and alternate route or trenching method.

Sufficient barricades shall be provided by the contractor, at his own expense, to protect all unattended excavations or trenches.

Unless otherwise specified on the plans, all mainline pipes shall have a minimum cover of 24” and a maximum cover of 36” and all lateral pipes shall have a minimum cover of 15 inches and a maximum cover of 24”.
