UHMWPE WEAR STRIPS

Wear strips are used to reduce wear or erosion in mechanical systems. They are used wherever abrasion, impact, or heat may cause wear and tear on mechanical components. The proper selection of wear strips, plates and parts requires an understanding of both application requirements and product specifications. Wear Strips protect manufacturing machinery from abrasion or impact. UHMWPE wear strips are resistant to the abrasive effects of the bulk processing of grain, ore, salt, limestone, coal, glass, and y ash. Anti-static and UV treated grades are available on request.

• Used as a sliding support for plastic modular belts and chains, or as a guiding aid for various purposes;• Used in a wide range of industries such as bottling, packaging, materials handling, and food processing.

ADVANTAGES

• Lower drag and noise• Shock absorbing & self-lubricating• Very low coefficient of friction• High impact and bending strength

UHMWPE CHAIN GUIDES

• FDA approved• No moisture absorption• Bacteria free & hygienic• Reduced power requirements

• Excellent chemical resistance, erosionand abrasion resistant

• Environmentally friendly and recyclable

Conveying Components & Industrial Chain Guides for Roller Chains: Industrial chain guides are available in UHMWPE, which meets guidelines for food handling, including those from FDA, USDA and 3-A Dairy. UHMWPE self-lubricating surface minimizes friction and extends chain life. UHMWPE industrial chain guides are quiet, reduces noise and are made for use with plastic or metal chains.

APPLICATIONS

Wear strips, sliding supports and guides, as well as curved and straight tracks that are extruded or machined, are used in many industries, including bottling, packaging, mechanical, pharmaceutics, ceramics, glass, food processing, paper, etc. UHMWPE offers impact resistance, tensile strength at high temperatures, and energy absorption under high stress levels.

CHAIN GUIDES

IRP's Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Wear Strips, Chain Guides, Curves and Tracks deliver properties of wear resistance, self lubrication, water resistance, acid resistance, anti-vibration/noise dampening, dirt repellent and are light weight which makes it an ideal material for support and guiding of standard chain sections. Use of these sections not only support the chain but also prevent chain vibration and assists in reducing effect of drag which extends the expectancy of chains and belts.

Conventional guide rails manufactured from sheet or other metal are frequently responsible for excessive wear of rollers and links, particularly if lubrication is not provided.

The increasing requirements of noise, hygiene, health and safety make the use IRP's Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene and nylons particularly useful in the design of machinery incorporating chains and belts.
