People Power for our Pool! Help bring the Frankston Regional Aquatic Health and Wellbeing Centre to life!

Frankston City Council is calling on all residents and visitors to our city to sign a petition to help secure Federal funding for the city’s much needed Regional Aquatic Health and Wellbeing Centre.

The petition, which will be presented to the Regional Development Australia Fund, asks the Federal Government to contribute $15 million towards the proposed centre at Samuel Sherlock Reserve.

The Victorian Government has already invested $12.5 million toward the new state-of-the-art facility and a Federal Government contribution will mean ratepayers won''t have to carry the full burden of the remaining costs.  To sign the petition click here: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/people-power-for-our-pool.html - please complete, forward, share, retweet - or whatever it takes to help get it out there to your friends, family, network and communities! We have only a small window to get these signatures but we''re hoping for many thousands by the end of March. Share the link directly or through one of the following links: This is also available as a link from Council's: Website homepage under 'Latest news' - http://www.frankston.vic.gov.au/ Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/FrankstonCityCouncil Twitter - http://twitter.com/FrankstonCity

Hard copies of the petition will be available to sign at all Council facilities from today.

Council has committed to building the $46.35 million Frankston Regional Aquatic Health and Wellbeing Centre which will include a 51.5m Olympic size swimming pool, a learn to swim and leisure pool with play area; café; gymnasium; waterslides; splash deck; warm water therapy pool; spa and sauna; crèche and health and wellness centre.   Power to the people!
