Also, since the resolution is so much wider now, I’ll be cropping most of my pictures from here on out.

Neo’s and Ben’s genes combined don’t make for that many variations, unfortunately :/

Yowza, that’s a scary face. I guess your real question is “what happened to Patrick Ottomas?”. You see…

Samantha and Peter Ottomas both passed away recently, after a long life of continuous fornication and reproduction.

Several of their offspring had gathered to hear their final words, and while the greavers were busy moving the deceased to a more suitable location, a fire started. By the time the smoke was noticed, the flames had already spread to the point where they could not be put out.

Everyone were already gathered outside at the supposed point of ignition, yet they all ran in one by one to save the heirlooms of their childhood home and ultimately join the choir invisible. Your dear friend Patrick was the first one to meet his untimely end, I’m afraid.

Luckily Ottilia, the youngest of them all, did not attend the tragedy and was thus spared. I believe she has recovered from the initial shock and is currently staying with her sister Safina, one of the few who had bid their parents farewell in advance.

I wonder to myself why Patrick would have been so foolish as to make that fateful dash for his parents’ bedroom; what could a sim possibly gain from rushing into the midst of a blaze like that?

The origin of the fire is still a mystery, as neither the stove nor the fireplace had been used that day.

It was almost as if the spark had been ignited by a force majeure.

“You mean you killed them.”

Hey now, no matter who or what initiated the inferno, they all ran inside by their own free will. Foolish sims.

Now to a slightly less depressing topic: either we have cockroaches or just bad luck.

“Hey, I didn’t do anything! Just ask Curium!”

Well, there’s no “call in sick” for kids, so off to school you go!

You need to take better care of your pets! Benny is starving!

What do you mean? He has all the questionable puddles a dog could possibly drink!

Meanwhile, in the storage room/toddler prison:

It actually took me a while to realise why I kept hearing two types of music simultaneously: the broken stereo is glitched.

I couldn’t delete it or set it for sale; the batbox didn’t do anything; the only option in testingcheats shift-click was to force error, which I didn’t want to touch.

So I bent the rules and had Ben fix it, with the gate being locked for all other sims but him.

Please don’t get electrocuted, please don’t get electrocuted…

“There, fixed it. But the remote doesn’t work when I’m this close, and there’s no such thing as a manual option.”

*grumble* Oh and btw, while fiddling with the batbox I found out that this lot’s value is high class. Lolwut?

You’re probably wondering about the towels, and yes, the answer lies in a mod. Thanks to Ailias (MTS), my teen-elder sims now change into the BV towel after showers and baths.

And since these people LOVE to take baths and don’t have jobs, you’ll be seeing a LOT of towels.

WAS THAT A BABY BUMP?!

…way to get my expectations up, pop-up window.

While some of the Rautas walk around in towels all day, some prefer to go au naturel.

I think it’s kind of sweet that Ilo and Bruce have an active love life even as old and grey.

And suddenly, an error message showed up. At first I thought that Neo was the one erroring and got one helluva scare, but it was the easel. I recently installed Anoeska’s MMF easels with more options, so that was probably what caused the jump.I could only move the canvas using moveobjects, and it was still tilted despite being finished, so I couldn’t hang it on a wall…

…so the painting ended up in the tech cemetary! Thanks to the AL shiftable feature (and maybe another placement cheat, I don’t remember) I got it to look like it’s resting towards the broken stereo :D

Also, Bruce wanted a hot tub, so he got one. Or rather, I’d been planning on giving the Rautas a hot tub for some time, but didn’t actually do it until he rolled the want.It’s by HugeLunatic (MTS) and although it costs practically nothing, fuzzy_spork uses it too, and she’s the creator of this challenge.

Note to self: don’t put desks and phones in narrow hallways.

Geesh, I need to learn how to do proper trailer layouts.

A certain someone spread the flu to his siblings instead of becoming healthy again while at school like one of my QBC kids.

“Hey, I could’ve stayed at home and rested, but you –”

Why am I suddenly reminded of my culture history homework?

Ben has nothing to worry about. After all, the in-laws are helping out too!

Yup, nothin’ like quality time with the grandparents.

That was when I noticed Ilo had inherited money from Peter. It was only a §1000, but it felt unfair to keep it. Thus, Ilo gets to send the sum to Cara Lum (married to an Ottomas) using Pescado’s money order.

Can I go even one chapter without mentioning CC or mods?

Tel starts his day off with dancing, as one should.

Or possibly a mime act.

Benny is so popular with the kids! Unlike Dakota, who just seems to be grumping in her doghouse all day (when she’s not asking to be fed or bathed or something like that).

You can’t see it from this picture, but he’s actually dancing along to the music!

The children keep rolling wants for him and Dakota to learn commands, while I’m busy trying to keep everyone fed.

“Come on Ben! We need to get cracking on another baby before we become too old!”

“Are you really sure about this? With all the people living in this trailer, we can’t even find time or space to - ”

“Whatcha guys talking about?”

Neo & Ben: “Better stuff my face so I can’t answer.”

Meanwhile, Francie and Hydra await for someone to change their diapers.

While Ma and Pa are busy cooking up some love in the hot tub…

Seriously though, how cool is it to have a glitch-haunted painting in your backyard?

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS WEEK.

Getting into a tent doesn’t count as a sleep interaction as far as autonomy goes, apparently.

“I hope these fancy-schmancy pet bowls will hold more food than the cheap ones we had earlier, so the dogs will hold off on the complainin’. It’s hard enough to remember making breakfast for the kiddies!”

Thanks to fall, potty training becomes easier than ever!

Samarium decided to help take care of his siblings instead of going to school.

By which I mean Gallie, because I want the matriarchy to go on.

Tel and Curi also decided that attendance isn’t necessary to get good grades: sleeping and spying on the neighbors are much more valuable ways to spend one’s time.

I’m sure they’d be doing their homework if Benny wasn’t busy mauling it all.

Like I’ve said, he’s popular with the kids.

Sam: “Here, have a §1 treat! In fact, I’ll even agitate Voice further by letting you have a piece of flesh from my back!”

Dakota: “Err… I’d rather not.”

You know that Music & Dance is big in this family when even the dogs are joining in to sing.

Ben, being ever the kind spirit, becomes best friends with Zirc by teaching him that it’s okay to laugh at others as long as you’re not pointing at them directly.

Sam on the other hand teaches him how to impress the ladies with your smustle movez.

Even though the only ladies he’s ever encountered are related to him or currently in the wrong age group.

Still, he’s way better off than Ben, who judging from the expression has no idea of what he’s doing.

“Zzz… best friends forever with Ben…”

FINALLY he jumps out of the red! And into gold, apparently o.O

At last, the quadruplets grow up!

First is Francie, who I’ve realised has the same hairstyle as my current simself…

…followed by Zirc, who’s so smooth that he grows up using dance moves…

…with Gallie being the bad apple this generation, peeing herself as soon as she grows up.

*sad trombone music*

Hey! Wake up!

Since Hydra’s late to the party, he actually gets cake and people cheering for him.

If only it’d work like that in real life.

“Woo! I got a semi-party!”

Actual parties are tough to manage with this many sims, since someone’s bound to pee themselves sooner or later >:(

Lee and Curi continue the mentoring of their baby bros, this time by playing ball sports in the dark...

...while Bruce tells his wife what kind of sports equipment he’d like to try out on her *shudders*
