Welcometo Liverpool
This year, Liverpool will host the inaugural Irish Sea Tall Ships Regatta, which will see a small fleet race from Dublin.
The fleet visited Liverpool as part of The Tall Ships Races 2008 and Sail Training International is looking forward to seeing the vessels and crews around the city again.
We know that the host port committee has worked hard to plan a successful event and we are confident that Liverpool will give the crews a memorable welcome and stay.
Sail training on board Tall Ships has made a remarkable contribution to international friendship and understanding and to the lives of thousands of young men and women.
It is an activity that provides young people with an amazing adventure and an experience through which they learn the value of teamwork and leadership, as well as developing new skills and confidence that will enhance and enrich their social and working lives.
I look forward to the Irish Sea Tall Ships Regatta in Liverpool and wish the host port committee good luck for the event.
Knut Western, Chairman Irish Sea Tall Ships Regatta

As with any large scale event, times and details are subject to the vagaries of people, time, transport, regulations and the weather. With a maritime event the wind and tides are also a major factor. Please dress for the weather as performances take place outside.
