“Errigal undertook the Management Matters diagnostic exercise as part of a wider development agenda within the company that was seeking to position the company for a significant growth phase. The company and in particular the Management Team found that the results provided not only a statement of where we were as a business in terms of key practices and processes but highlighted what global best practice actually means in the context of our business. From this we were able to prioritise a number of initiatives around best practice and to continually challenge ourselves especially in areas such as Talent Management and the development of key performance indicators.”

Aodh O’Domhnaill Managing Director, Errigal Seafood

Quarterly Update

Keeping you up to date on new ideas

All Corporate Members receive our quarterly e-bulletin highlighting a selection of key ideas and new thinking in management as well as keeping you informed of what’s going on in the IMI.

IMI Council Nominee

For senior leaders who are committed to improving the standard of management in Ireland

IMI Corporate Members can directly influence the future direction of executive education in Ireland – while also being introduced to a diverse and exclusive high-level network. The IMI Council is composed of senior leaders, drawn from IMI’s Membership base, with a common interest in driving business performance through improving the standard of management in Ireland. The opportunity to stand for election to IMI’s Council is an opportunity to play a part in shaping the strategic direction of the Institute to meet the needs of Irish-based enterprise and network with a group of influential peers.

Management Matters Profile

For Large and Corporate Plus Members who want to benchmark their key management practices

The IMI Management Matters Profile is a diagnostic service designed to assess your organisation’s overall management capability as indicated by the use of key management practices. The profiling service produces a feedback report which benchmarks your organisation internationally across these key practices and identifies areas in which productivity and performance gains could be made. Taking place in Q1 2013, the diagnostic entails a phone interview with at least two senior managers in your organisation. This service is offered on a complimentary basis to Large and Corporate Plus Members and is available to Small and Medium Corporate Members at a preferential member’s rate.

“As long-standing Corporate Members, we’ve seen IMI really react to the changing needs of our business and managers and I’m impressed at how the IMI team has responded to our needs and developed and enhanced the value proposition to meet our requirements – the introduction of Management Training Review & Certification is a good example. Over the last 5 years we had built an extensive in-house curriculum meeting the business requirements of our organisation but wanted to benchmark and validate the robustness of our programmes from an external perspective. IMI reviewed our approach and worked with us to design a practical assessment framework around some priority programmes to ensure the learning was applied to support the needs of the business. We’re really pleased with the outcome and support we received from IMI and the feedback from individual managers who’ve gone through the programme and achieved certification has been exceptionally positive.”

Eamonn Eaton Head of Group Learning & Engagement, Bank of Ireland

“One of the really important benefits of Corporate Membership to PEI has been access to the IMI Knowledge Centre. The Business & Learning Resources that are available online, combined with the expert help available through the Knowledge Centre Team can really provide tangible support to the business. IMI Corporate Membership gives us access to information resources not readily available elsewhere and at a fraction of the cost. More importantly, they’ve enabled me to introduce new ideas and an external perspective into the organisation. “I believe the critical importance of management development to organisations, the economy and wider society is often under-appreciated. As someone who has worked at CEO level in both for profit and not-for-profit organisations I consider myself to have a personal responsibility, both within and beyond my organisation, to help address this. I’ve been a member of the IMI Council since 2007. Personally, I’ve benefited greatly from the opportunity to meet and engage with my peers in other organisations and feel privileged to help shape the future direction of management education at the IMI.”
