Soft Shoes

– Referred to as “reel” shoes

– Irish Dancing shoe sizes and street shoe sizes are not the same.

Hard Shoes

– The bottom of a hard shoe, the sole, can have many different levels of flexibility depending on if it is black suede, gray suede or plain leather.

– Hard shoes with leather bottoms are perfect for beginners

• The feis been an important part of the cultural life of rural communities.

• They have world competitions in Ireland every Easter.

• National competitions all throughout the country called The Oriachteus
