Irina Osipova

Irina Osipova is a Russian basketball player who competed for the Russian National Team at the 2008 Summer Olympics, winning the bronze medal. She currently plays for Istanbul University from Turkey, serving as the team's captain.

Irina Osipova – an olimpian.Recently the basketball player participated in Summer Olympic Games which were held in the capital of China - Beijing - in August of the 2008th year. Osipova caused a stir and I became a bronze prizer.

Irina Osipova was born in Moscow - on January 25th the 1981st year. Since the childhood she showed sports bents.She played many team games. However most of all it liked basketball.

Soon Osipova began to train under supervision of true professionals, originally the skilled expert – A.Orekhov was Irina's trainer. Thanks to natural talent and Osipova's potential, the sportswoman got the necessary form soon and began to participate in various competitions actively. 

Biography

Soon to the basketball player paid attention and invited to play as a part of the national Russian team. It happened in the 2000th year, and since then the sportswoman often competed at the international level and won prizes of different advantage.

The basketball player was twice awarded a gold medal – both times after its participation in the European championship (in the 2003rd, 2007th years).

  In the 2002nd year Irina Osipova participated in the World Cup and borrowed the second place. And also – received a silver medal.

In the 2004th year of Osipova competed on Summer Olympic Games which were held in Athens. In the Olympic tournament Irina caused a stir and became the owner of a bronze medal.

In the 2008th year the sportswoman competed again on the Olympic Games. The basketball player in a line-up of Russians perfectly acted and won a bronze award.

Basketball’s career

After the Beijing Olympic Games the sportswoman came back home, to Moscow. There her family – the husband and daughter Alyona.

In free from trainings hours the basketball player prefers to go to the cinema or to read good literature.

Today Osipova continues to train and counts in the future time to improve herself. In its near future and team many interesting matches wait.
