Town Hall Renovation - The economy has affected all of our families and should likewise affect the township.I proposed a resolution committing the township to a renovation of town hall instead of a new building. Itpassed unanimously. Munson could have built a new town hall on the campus of our current building, aswasplanned before I became a trustee. However, a new roof and a modest renovation/expansion of the currentbuilding are what Munson needs. Now the difficult task of planning and building begins. We are committed toseeking community input and consensus as we undertake the renovation.Administration - as Chair of the Trustees, I have spent a great deal of time ensuring that meetings runsmoothly and that the office is run effectively. To that end, we instituted performance evaluations and goalsfor all personnel and I created a Records Commission with the fiscal officer. We created a records retentionpolicy and will continue to work to streamline the paperwork maintained at the township.Equipment & Maintenance- We must maintain our plant and equipment to deliver services effectively. Werecently purchased a snowplow truck and an ambulance for the Fire Department. In 2012, my priorities areprocuring another replacement ambulance, finishing the grant-procured energy saving retrofits at the FireDepartment and Service Garage and maintaining our current park properties.

Why should voters elect you? I am honored to be a public servant. Early in my career, working for the u.s.Army in Germany, the u.s. Navy, then for the u.s. Department of Justice, I handled varied matters fromcomplex contracts to individual service member concerns. Giving everyone an opportunity to be heard andasking questions that can lead to consensus is a hallmark of my work. The best decisions are usually onesreached by agreement rather than edict. As Chair of the Township Trustees, I take my role as a representativeof ill! residents very seriously. Often, the most important information and best ideas come from residents, soin vite re sid en ts to c on tin ue to c all m e w ith th eir c on ce rn s a nd s ug ge stio ns . I va lu e th e ru ra l c ha ra cte r a ndtraditions of the township, and am mindful of preserving Munson's past in preparing for our future.As importantly, I love Munson Township. I volunteered on Munson boards for many years before running fortrustee. Much of the reason Munson is such a desirable place to live is the welcoming attitude of neighborsand businesses alike. I am committed to this township and want to help maintain the quality of life here. AsMunson grows, there will be new challenges to confront. Iwill continue to put my experience to work to keeMunson a wonderful place to call home.

Township government in Ohio is limited in scope. It is important to ensure that the trustees are actingproperly and openly within those powers. Trustees must always provide an opportunity for citizens to sharetheir views. While trustees have significant latitude with respect to real property, they should be circumspectin enacting new resolutions that affect property owners or individual rights.I am proud of the accomplishments and progress Munson has made while I have been Trustee and of ouraccomplishments. I will continue to work hard to serve all of the residents of Munson Township.
