Monday, August 1, 2005Coast Excursion

Enjoy a wonderful Westin Breakfast this morning before your sightseeing journey, which will take you north of Dublin along the coast. (Seamus will arrange to meet you in the Hotel lobby)

Today you will explore the picturesque village of Malahide and perhaps visit its famed castle. You will then journey to the fishing town of Howth and continue to explore.

Returning to Dublin this afternoon, you can enjoy a self-guided tour of the famed Guinness Storehouse (admission not included) for a glimpse into the history of Guinness. This will be a perfect opportunity to do some shopping and exploring at your leisure.

Take a nice rest and refresh yourselves for a wonderful dinner tonight

TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2005Dublin - Adare

Pack your bags and prepare for your next experience in Adare…you’ll be checking out of the Westin this morning after you’ve enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.

Seamus will arrange to meet you in the Hotel lobby for your travel to the historic Rock of Cashel, the ancient castle home of the High Kings of Ireland (admission not included). Onward via the countryside to Limerick where you’ll visit Bunratty Castle and Folk Park (admission not included). Afterwards you will continue your journey to the Old World Village of Adare and the stately Adare Manor where you will rest for one night.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3, 2005Adare - Mayo

Behold the beautiful countryside this morning and get ready for another day’s journey. Pack your bags and get ready to travel, but not before you’ve had a hearty Breakfast.

Gather in the Manor’s Lobby where Seamus Coffey will be waiting for your journey north into the Burren region of County Clare.

You’ll visit the majestic Cliffs of Moher, rising 700 feet and reaching out for 5 miles along the coast. Onward along the shores of Galway Bay to Galway City where you enjoy a brief sightseeing tour, which shows you Eyre Square, the Spanish Arch, and the beautiful Galway Cathedral. You will then continue your journey north to Cong, where the movie “The Quiet Man” was filmed and the site of Ashford Castle, which will be your home for the next two nights.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 4, 2005Connemara Excursion

Before your journey begins today, start off with a wonderful breakfast.

You will arrange to meet Seamus in the Castle’s Lobby for your journey through the wild and rugged land of rocky mountains, sparkling brooks and rivers. You will visit Kylemore Abbey (admission not included), monastic home of the Benedictine Nuns. Enjoy some time to explore the picturesque Village of Clifden.

Seamus will then return you to Ashford Castle where you have time to enjoy some estate activities – perhaps a spa treatment, a lake cruise on the private lake, or golf on the Estate’s 9-hole course.

Relax and unwind and the prepare for your last night’s dinner, again in the George V Dining Room

FRIDAY, AUGUST 5, 2005Dublin - Edinburgh

Onward to Scotland…pack your bags…and prepare for an early Continental Breakfast before leaving Ireland.

Seamus will meet you at 7:00 this morning. You will board the Mercedes Midi-Coach, and you will travel across the Irish Countryside to Dublin Airport where you will bid your Chauffeur Seamus farewell.

Upon your arrival to Edinburgh, you will be met by Scottish Tourist Guides Association Chauffeur Andrea Todd (Tel # 07733-068850). Andrea will be your escort through the remainder of your journey. You will board a brand new Luxury Coach. Andrea will take you to the Balmoral Hotel for check-in. (Balmoral does not accept advance payment. Therefore you will be asked to pay the hotel directly.)

Please note that you will be staying at the Balmoral for two consecutive nights 8/5 & 8/6. You will stay at St. Andrews Old Course Hotel on 8/7 & 8/8 and then you will return for 1 night’s stay at the Balmoral on August 9th.

If you’re confused about where you are…you’re in the beautiful country of Scotland. Today will be a full day of touring. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, which is included in your package.

Andrea Todd will meet you at 9:00am and begin the day touring Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. This tour will show you all of the important attractions including Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, the Palace of Holyroodhouse (subject to a Royal visit), St. Giles Cathedral, and you may visit the Scotch Malt Whiskey Society (admission not included).

Time will be allowed during the day for lunch and shopping, of course.

After a full day of touring you’ll be happy to return to Balmoral to rest a while before dinner.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 7, 2005Edinburgh - St. Andrews

This morning enjoy a wonderful breakfast with wonderful views…

Andrea Todd will be waiting for you in the lobby for a 9:00am departure.

This morning the suggested visits are on the outskirts of Edinburgh. First, the Scottish Mining Museum, which is very popular with children, and next there is Rosslyn Chapel (admission not included) – a medieval church now famous because it was featured in the best selling novel, The DaVinci Code. Doors open at Noon.

Alternatively, you may visit Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh Zoo, or Butterfly World.

Next you will travel north across the Forth Bridge and along the coast road through the fishing villages of Anstruther and Crail to St. Andrews which will be your home for the next two nights.

MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 2005St. Andrews

Joe – you need to be ready to play golf at 5:30am…shoes and clubs have been reserved (you may want to get there by 5:00am)

The rest of the family can enjoy a wonderful breakfast this morning, while Joe is experiencing St. Andrew’s world famous golf course.

After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of St. Andrews. Apart from its fame as the home of golf, St. Andrews is a very attractive place in its own right. St. Andrews Cathedral, St. Andrews Castle, and of course St. Andrews University where the heir to the throne, Prince William has just completed his degree.

When the entire group has assembled after lunch, Andrea will take you to the City of Dundee where you’ll visit the RRS Discovery (admission not included) used by Captain Scott in his early explorations of Antarctica. Then it’s off to Glamis Castle (admission not included), home of the late Queen Mother, a majestic castle steeped in 600 years of Scottish history.

Return to St. Andrews and relax before dinner.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2005St. Andrews – Edinburgh

You will be checking out of the Old Course Hotel this morning.

Get ready for a full day and prepare to board Andrea’s Luxury Coach at 8am this morning. Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy a nice breakfast before your departure.

Your tour will take you to Coupar and Kinross, and then through Glen Devon to Gleneagles Golf Resort, which recently hosted the G8 Summit. Then it’s off to Crieff to visit the Glenturret Distillery (Grouse Experience admission not included). After the visit, continue touring in to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park – Rob Roy Country, St. Fillans and Lochearnhead to Loch Lomond.

A boat trip from Tarbet is planned for 2:30pm, which will enable you to get the best view of the Loch (cost not included). Then join the motorway past Glasgow arriving into Edinburgh at approximately 5:00PM.

You will be spending your last night at the famous Balmoral Hotel. Check-in, rest a bit, and then prepare yourselves for an incredible and memorable dinner.

Andrea Todd will return to the Balmoral Hotel at 8:45am and will escort the both of you to the Waverly Train Station, which is directly below the Balmoral Hotel.

The train departs for London at 9:30am and arrives London at 2:21PM. First Class accommodations have been arranged for the train trip to London and you will be sitting in Coach L, seats 51N & 52N. (Andrea will have your Rail Tickets)
