IREDELL STATESVILLE SCHOOLS AUTO TECH CENTER
VISITS SEMA & AAPEX SHOWS IN NOVEMBER 2015
The Iredell-Statesville Schools Automotive Technology Center instructors traveled to Las Vegas to
accept the 2015 award for Tomorrow’s Technician Magazine School of the Year. Following the
reception dinner the instructors spent the following days attending the SEMA and AAPEX shows. Our
program will be the recipient of over $2000 in donated equipment, scholarship opportunities for our
students, and possible future grant monies for our program. Valuable contacts were made with many
companies that could impact our program for years to come. We thank our school district and our
local business partners for allowing our program to be a leader in student education and continue a
path for future success. As always, continuing to ignite a passion for learning.
Please see attached press release and video of our program.

Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX),
For more than 25 years, Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) has been the premier global
event representing the $477 billion global aftermarket auto parts industry. Located at the majestic
Sands Expo, AAPEX 2015 will feature over 2,200 automotive aftermarket manufacturers and suppliers
showcasing innovative products, services and technologies to 39,000+ targeted buyers. AAPEX is co-
owned by the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), the
light vehicle aftermarket division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA).
The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is a not-for-profit trade association based in
Bethesda, MD. AAIA’s 23,000 members and affiliate companies manufacture, distribute, sell and install
motor vehicle parts, accessories, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and services. Representing
suppliers, distributors, retailers, service providers, program groups, manufacturers’ representatives,
educators, and publishers, AAIA is the largest and most comprehensive trade association for the
automotive aftermarket. The organization was established in July 1999 upon the consolidation of the
Automotive Parts and Accessories Association (APPA) and the Automotive Service Industry Association
(ASIA). Kathleen Schmatz leads AAIA as president and CEO.
Membership is built around 7 distinct subset groups representing different segments of the aftermarket
industry. These include the Automotive Electric Association (AEA), the Auto International Association
(AIA), the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), the Heavy Duty Distribution
Association (HDDA), Paint, Body & Equipment Specialists (PBES), and the Upholstery & Trim
International, Tool & Equipment (TOOL) segments.
