Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) aims at sustaining and promoting a quality culture in higher educational institutions. It advocates the establishment of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) by all the accredited institutions as a post accreditation quality sustenance activity. It channelizes the efforts of the institution towards academic excellence. Objectives and Strategies

Improving the academic and administrative performance of the institutions. Monitoring the quality parameters of the college. Optimizing, integrating and monitoring the modern methods of teaching learning and evaluation. Maintaining Quality sustenance and enhancement. Promoting innovative practices. Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and functioning of the support structures.

Functions

Development of Bench marks for quality in academic and administrative activities. Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education. Organization of workshops, rallies, guest lectures and seminars related to quality and promotion

of quality circles. Documentation of the various programmes/activities leading to quality improvement. Preparation of Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC.

For us, education does not lie in the quantification of knowledge but it lies in the quality of knowledge. By all means, IQAC adds greatly to the strength of the college and leads the institution towards academic excellence. IQAC meetings are conducted periodically to check the quality parameters of the college and the effective functioning of the cell in order to fulfill its objectives and functions.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH The Department of English and the Department of Chemistry in association with IQAC has

organized an Orientation Programme cum Motivational Discourse for students on “Leading A

The Department of English has organized a 45 day Certificate Course in “Spoken English and

Soft Skills” by Eduexpo,Vijayawada during December-2014 and January,2015. Smt V.Aruna Kumari, H.O.D of English and Ms G.Soni, Lecturer in English have participated in

Women’s day Rally on 7th March, 2015 on the occasion of International Women’s Day and

addressed the Anganwadi Teachers of Vuyyuru in the Seminar Hall on the significance of International Women’s Day and Women’s issues.

THE DEPARTMENT OF TELUGU Sri G. Srinivas, H.O.D of Telugu has attended a Seminar at Kajipalem, Guntur(Dt) and presented

a paper entitled “Janapada Kalalu – Vargikarana” on 25th and 26th of July, 2014. Sri G. Srinivas, H.O.D of Telugu has attended a Seminar at Nagaram, Guntur(Dt) and presented a

paper entitled “Girijana Nruthya Reethulu” on 12th and 13th of August, 2014. The Department of Telugu has arranged a guest lecture by Dr.K.Bala Krishna, SRR&CVR

Govt.College, Vijayawada on 7th August, 2014. The Department of Telugu has organized a cultural event called “Bathukamma”for all the II Year

Students on 26th November, 2014 as it is prescribed in the syllabus.

DAR College, Nuzivid on 17th & 18th of December, 2014. Smt D.Rajya Lakshmi has participated in a UGC sponsored two-day-National Seminar on

“Understanding the Contemporaneity of Acharya Nagarjuna’s Philosophy in the Global Context”

and presented a paper entitled “Civilization and Cultured ideas from Acharya Nagarjuna’s

Philosophy: A Contemporary relevance” organized by Center for Mahayana Buddhist Studies Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur during 28th to 30th January, 2015.
