2,550 tonnes of steel used on the project – equivalent to 1,492 Holden Commodores.
31,500 cubic meters of concrete used on the project – enough to fill 13 Olympic size swimming pools.
13,000 truck loads of asphalt has been laid to date.
132,000 truck loads of earth has been moved to date.
The project has completed 46 out of 58 traffic changes.
An average of 1896 direct and indirect jobs will be sustained over the life of this project.

Traffic movements at the Ipswich/Logan Interchange will soon be in their final arrangement. This last motorway change for the upgrade will take place in mid/late August 2009.
Following this traffic change » Motorists travelling on the
Ipswich Motorway (Brisbane bound) to the Logan Motorway (Gold Coast bound) will exit via the new permanent left-side off-ramp.
» Motorists on the Ipswich Motorway (Brisbane bound) will travel over the Gold Coast bound Logan Motorway underpass.
» The Ipswich Motorway Goodna on-ramp (Brisbane bound) will have its own dedicated lane. This lane eventually becomes the Logan Motorway off-ramp. Motorists travelling to the Logan Motorway should stay in the left lane; Brisbane bound motorists should merge right.

Traffic signage will be in place to help direct motorists during these changes.Timing of work is subject to weather and construction conditions.
Exact dates will be advised closer to the time of the traffic changes. Traffic changes will be advertised on the radio, in local newspapers, on local signage and the project website.

August 2007Westerly view of the Ipswich/Logan Interchange Project.
Works are underway to the southern side of the Ipswich Motorway, and the Ipswich Motorway to Logan Motorway underpass.
October 2008One of the project’s major traffic changes took place in September 2008. The Ipswich Motorway to Logan Motorway underpass was opened to traffic and the first three spans of the Old Logan Road Bridge were installed.
June 2009The project team is progressing works with a series of permanent changes as the project nears completion.
Both Ipswich Motorway/Logan Motorway underpasses are in the final stages of completion. All seven spans of the Old Logan Road Bridge have been installed. Brisbane Road (service road) has been opened for one-way traffic (Ipswich bound).
January 2008The works around the interchange have expanded as work progresses.
The roundabout at the end of Old Logan Road has been replaced with a T-intersection. Works on the Ipswich Motorway to Logan Motorway underpass are well underway.
