Why use an iPod?
Promote a leisure activity skill.
See how well your student can attend to a task (turn on the ipod, navigate through music, listen to music).
Use an iPod to reinforce a social story.
Promote social independence.
iPod definitions
iTunes- “an audio playback program designed by Apple computer.”
Podcast- “is a pre-recorded audio program that's posted to awebsite and is made available for download so people can listen to them on personal computers or mobile devices.”
Vidcast-a video podcast.
Syncing-Data is moving from the computer to an ipod (your iPod will need to be plugged into the computer).
Hold Switch-This allows you to lock the iPod when it’s in use so that your settings aren’t changed.
Docking-a home base where your iPod can charge or sync.
iPod and iTunes
You will need iTunes downloaded on your computer before you’ll be able to upload/download music. IT can do this.
Common questions
Q: How do I charge the iPod?
A: It needs to be plugged into a
computer’s USB port.
Q: How do I organize folders?
A: You will want to create separate
playlists. You can do this by typing ctrl n.

A: You open up iTunes to add a podcast.
You can delete a podcast from your
playlist by right clicking and hitting delete.
Q: How do I do a voice recording?
A: You can use the iTalk Pro which plugs
right into your iPod.
