Khristian GutierrezChief Business Development Officer | Passport | Charlotte, North Carolina

Khristian Gutierrez is Chief Business Development Officer at Passport, focusing on strategy, partnerships, and new business development. As an original member of Passport, he has driven its growth to a market-leading position in both the parking and transportation markets. Prior to joining Passport, he excelled in investment banking, where he helped execute various capital markets and advisory assignments. He received his M.S.F. from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida, where he also received his bach-elor’s degree from the Warrington College of Business Administration.

Platform: Encouraging combinations of parking and transit initiatives. As an expert in payment processing, urban mo-bility software, and high-growth companies, I am uniquely qualified to drive the industry trend of combined parking and transit initiatives. Both markets have experienced a movement toward information focused mobile-first platforms and away from legacy hardware-centric platforms, enabling parking and transportation directors to coordinate agendas for the first time ever. In addition to working to facilitate the presentation of transit innovations in the parking space, I will proudly represent vendor-agnostic innovations in the parking industry at regional and national transit conferences in North America.

Francis (Frank) NaglePrincipal | Nagle Energy Solutions (NES), LLC | Menlo Park, California Frank Nagle is the founding principal of NES, which manufactures, distributes, and installs an innovative, en-ergy saving ventilation control system for commercial garages. He is an active member of the IPI and Green Parking Council (GPC), serving on the IPI’s Sustainability Committee and the GPC’s Sustainable Technologies Committee, for which he helped craft the Green Garage Certification Standard for garage ventilation. In 2011, he served on the California Energy Commission (CEC) task force that revised California’s Energy Code, known as Title 24, specific to enclosed parking garage ventilation.

Platform: Stock terms in the IPI lexicon include “education,” “professional development,” and “sustainability.” Less common but relevant to members’ livelihoods are terms such as “operating margin,” “profit & loss (P&L),” and “return on investment (ROI).” Members often express a desire to be better able to: a) gauge the investment attributes of a technology/system they’re considering; and then b) convey the value – environmentally, operationally and financially – to those individuals who write and sign the checks. As a Board member, I will advocate the expansion of IPI programs and seminars as a means to broaden members’ professional acumen in the area capital investment(s).

Rick Decker, MBA, CAPPAssistant Manager, Parking Operations | Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport |St. Paul, Minnesota

Rick Decker currently serves as IPI’s Treasurer and on its Executive Committee. He has been Assistant Manager – Parking Operations at MSP since 2003 and a CAPP since 1997. He presents at national conferences, leads ShopTalks, has traveled abroad for IPI, and writes for IPI’s magazine. He shows he is passionate about increasing the professionalism of our industry.

Platform: As your Board member, I will actively continue to lead our industry nationally and help you earn your place at the decision-making table locally. We each must demonstrate our broad understanding of how parking links with other transportation modes to meet our customers’ needs. Our informed contributions improve our customers’ experience as well as our workplace and community. I ask for your vote to continue this important work.

Laurens EckelboomExecutive Vice President, Business Development | Parkmobile USA, Inc. | Atlanta, Georgia

Laurens Eckelboom is an international business development executive who has held senior positions in the financial, IT, and parking industries. Recently, he played a key role in the launch of mobile payment solutions in several European countries, and then duplicated that success in the U.S. when Parkmobile asked him to launch a start-up in Atlanta. Under his strategic direction, both companies became industry leaders in a few years. Widely recognized as an industry leader and innovative thinker, he has served on the IPI Board and chairs the Smart Parking AllianceSM and the International Outreach Committee. He joined TAG Mobility Board in 2014.

Platform: I would like to express my interest in running for the IPI Board again. I served on the board between 2012 and 2014 and was one of the founders of the Smart Parking Alliance, an initiative to introduce and explain smart technology to cities. My focus on parking as part of a larger ecosystem is strategic and holistic. Our world is rapidly changing, and now more than ever, we must be able to recognize threats and embrace opportunities. My deep knowledge of cutting-edge technology, payments, and mega trends enables me to connect the dots and provide a clear vision.

Platform: With parking management experience in university, public, and the private sector, I bring a balanced, unique, and distinct perspective to IPI. I believe my experience utilizing parking as an economic development tool will serve as a catalyst in cultivating public-private partnerships. If elected, my platform will center on the continued develop-ment of strategies to help the industry be more responsive, data-driven, and citizen-engaged through the use of digital technology. I believe that through technology, parking professionals can streamline processes, automate information gathering, seek proactive solutions through data analytics, and make infrastructure choices that will accommodate future parking trends.
