Information

This presentation will highlight how iPad collection will work and how to backup your iPad. It will illustrate iCloud and the use of Google Drive.

Please note that if your iPad was not set up correctly this year, you will not be able to restore your current iCloud back up for the 2015-2016 school year.

Procedure

1. You will be assigned a day to return your iPad. 2. Your homeroom teacher will distribute a pass

for you to come to the library at an assigned time.

3. You need to bring your fully charged ipad, gel case, and charger to the library during your assigned time.

4. Your iPad must be returned prior to exams.

● Have all content backed up prior to collection date

● Charge iPad prior to iPad Collection

● Update iPad to latest iOS prior to iPad Collection

Student Responsibilities

During iPad Collection To be completed in the library

● Arrive to IMC during scheduled collection time ● Bring iPad, Gel Case, and Charger

o Charger must be a District issued working Apple charger● Erase All Content & Settings on iPad● Label iPad (with first and last name on tape provided in library)

o The same iPad, Case, and Charger will be distributed for the 2015-2016 school year

● Complete iPad Check Off List & Sign

● All fees will be processed on the day of collection and entered into Infinite Campuso Student comments will be noted, but there will be no

exceptions/exclusions iPad Fee Structure

iPad - iCloud Back-up

1. Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.

2. In iOS 8 or later, tap Settings >

iCloud > Backup.

3. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Settings >

iCloud > Storage & Backup.

4. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned

on.

5. Turn on iCloud Backup

6. Tap Back Up Now. Stay connected to your Wi-Fi

network until the process completes.

7. Make sure the backup finished by tapping

Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage.

The backup you just made should appear with the

correct date and backup size.

Google Drive- Photo Backup

Google Drive is a cloud storage service from Google. Google Drive offers you 5GB of free storage space for storing photos, videos and documents. This is another option for backing up photos.

All students have a School Google Account.

The Username is your computer login follwed by @wawmsd.org

The Password is your computer login password (teachers can find this on the StaffShare)

Google Drive - Photo Backup

Following are the steps to upload photos from iPad to Google Drive:

1. Go to https://drive.google.com and sign in to your @wawmsd.org account.

2. Download the "Google Drive App" on your iPad from the Apple App store & launch it.

3. Tap the "Google Drive App" on your iPad.

Google Drive - Photo Backup

4. Tap the "+" button

located at the top-right corner of the screen.

5. Select "Upload Photo or Video".

Photo Backup

6. Tap “All Photos”.

7. Select the photos (which you want to upload)

8. Tap the blue check mark button.

Tip: Be sure that your iPad settings allow photo uploads to Google Drive. Open "Settings" & select "Privacy". Tap Photos, & make sure that the ON/OFF switch next to Google Drive is turned ON.
