History • Greenville County Leaders decided to go digital

• We started identifying areas where the County could implement new systems or procedures to accomplish this

• We deployed a countywide document imaging system, remote email access, and starting posting many electronic documents on the county website

• We provided access from standard laptops to these systems.

• Popularity of the iPhone and its ease of use lead us to the iPad for our County Council

• In late 2010 Greenville County started purchasing and rolling out iPads to Greenville County Council Members

• In 2010 Greenville County IS developed its first iPhone app to interface with the current website service request system.

AirPrint is a technology invented by Apple and incorporated in 17 HP printers

AirPrint is supported in the iOS 4 architecture developed by Apple

AirPrint allows iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch the ability to wirelessly print documents, emails, Safari webpages and iBooks to an AirPrint enabled printer

AirPrint:

Due to iPad popularity, we developed a user group made up

of our IT staff that meets regularly to discuss productivity apps,

issues and support.

We test accessories and find work around to common problems.
