IoTWF Steering Committee Key Takeaways
• It is not about the things it is about the business value
• Not enough market understanding of the value of IoT. We need to educate the market.
• We need to develop an IoT business outcomes taxonomy
• Security and Privacy—are the biggest obstacles to IoT, in every vertical
• Two sides to security – security needs to understand IoT, and IoT to understand security

Definition of Fog Computing
Source: Research Paper on Fog Computing
The Internet of Things (IoT), requires mobility support, geo-distribution, location awareness, and low latency.
Fog Computing is the new platform meeting these needs. As the name suggests, Fog is a cloud close to the ground.
Fog Computing enables a new breed of applications and services, and allows a fruitful inter-play between the Cloud and the Fog, particularly when it comes to data management and analytics.
