    Important Voter InformationTop-Two Open PrimaryUnder the Top-Two Candidates Open Primary Act, approved by the voters in 2010, only the two candidateswho received the top number of votes in the primary election for 8 th Congressional, 8 th State Senate, 26 th State

    Assembly districts and all state constitutional offices will appear on the General Election Ballot. Candidates forthese offices may have the same political party preference. Additionally, write-in candidates are no longer

    allowed for these contests at the General Election. For more information you may contact the Inyo CountyElections Department at (760) 878-0224.

    The political party preference of candidates will show on the ballot in the following ways:

    Political Reform ActThe Political Reform Act was adopted as a statewide initiative by an overwhelmingvote of the people in 1974. The law requires detailed disclosure of contributions andexpenditures in connection with campaigns supporting or opposing state and localcandidates, ballot measures and disclosure of expenditures made in connection withlobbying the State Legislature.
