Inter-College Cricket Tournament 2013

This programme is an integral part of the Staffordshire Cricket - Player

Development Pathway. The u13, u14 and u15s District programmes run parallelto the County Age Groups and are key to our Talent Identification processes.

The major aims of this programme are to: To Talent identify potential County Age Group players for inclusion in 2013/14

Winter Squads. identify late developers broaden the opportunity for players at this age range to experience and

compete in the longer game (40 overs) provide an opportunity for ECBCA Qualified Coaches to coach Representative

Teams.

ProgrammeThe programme involves Talent Identification, Talent Selection and Talentdevelopment and Talent Confirmation.

Talent Identification Players nominated by clubs for the County Age group trails inSept/Oct 2010 will be offered the opportunity to be assessed as to their potential forbeing a member of the District Squad. Clubs can also nominate players whosepersonal development would benefit from their involvement within the Districtprogramme.

Talent Selection 4 hour assessment session from which a squad of up to 15players will be selected (As part of the match programme will be during the summer

holidays, 3 games, the size of the squad may need to accommodate players beingon holiday)

Talent Development and Confirmation - there will be 4 x 2 hour Development Squadsessions followed by 2 Outdoor/middle practices during May. This will be followed by3 matches to be played during the Whit Week holiday and a further 3 matchesplayed during the School Summer holidays probably during one festival week yet tobe decided.Following this programme those players identified as the best performers will begiven the opportunity to play in two matches against the current u13, u14 & U15County Age squad players. These games will be used as Performance based trialmatches for talent selection for next seasons Under 14,15 & 16 County Age groupsquads.

Eligibility

This programme is aimed at the current seasons under 13s (school year 8)14s(school year 9) and u15s (school year 10) but County Age Group Players areineligible.

Those players who were nominated for u13, U14 and u15 County Agegroup trials in September/October 2102 but not selected for the County

Squad will receive an automatic invitation to the trial.All other u13, U14,and U15 players can be nominated by their club usingthe appropriate nomination form (which is attached and also
