Wednesday, February 6 th 2013, 17:00 – 19:00 @ Chamber of Commerce House, 84 Ha'hashmonaim St., 2 nd Flr, Tel Aviv With a population of close to 4.5Million, New Zealand consistently ranks high in terms of 'ease of doing business' according to the Annual World Bank Doing Business Report. In 2012, the NZ GDP grew at approximately 3%, inflation at 1% and unemployment estimated to be 6.8%, with GDP per capita today standing at around $US40,000. New-Zealand is very much open to international trade with 57% of GDP going to Exports and Imports, more or less divided evenly. New Zealand has abundant water and arable land, and a temperate climate that supports sustainable food production hence the food and beverage industry is New Zealand’s largest manufacturing sector by total output, in particular, dairy products are a quarter of the country’s exports, giving it a third of the world’s dairy trade. Its largest company- Fonterra has annual revenues of over $US16Bil. Other major industries are- forestry & wood processing, ICT, manufacturing, petroleum and minerals and two new areas attracting much investment and attention are- biotechnology, clean technology.
