Competition This ITF Taekwon-Do tournament, the “Open Dutch”, is organized by Difesa Sports with the head of organization Master Willy van de Mortel. The Open Dutch is under the umbrella of the Master Series and ITF-Netherlands. Head umpire is Master Coos van de Heuvel and we use the electronic Sportdata system. The competition is open for all divisions (youth, juniors and seniors (A, B, C and D-class) in the categories sparring, patterns and for the A-class junior & senior there is also power-breaking and overall sparring. An overall award will be given to the competing gym with the best ranked competitors. When competitors are over their registered height or weight on the day of the competition he or she can’t compete in that part of the tournament! Weigh-in following international rules: dobok pants and t-shirt with a tolerance of 0.5 kg. (When the number of competitors in a category is too low, the organization can decide to combine categories.) Competition time sparring Youth : 1 round, 1.5 minutes Extra time : 1 round, 30 seconds, followed by golden point Junior : 1 round, 2 minutes Senior : 1 round, 2 minutes Overall-class : 1 round, 2 minutes Team-event : 1 rounds of 2 minutes for each 1 match Extra time : 1 round 1 minute, followed by golden point (In the junior and senior A-class, the semi final and final will have 2 rounds each being 2 minutes. The organization can decide to alter competition time if necessary.) Competition patterns Color Belts: Two competitors perform one optional pattern. Black Belts: Two competitors perform one designated pattern, chosen by the referee. Competition power-breaking Power-breaking will only be for black belts junior and senior. The format at Open Dutch 2018 will be slightly different then the official international format. When registering for competition one must specify how many boards you will expect to break for each technique. There are 5 mandatory techniques for male competitors and 3 mandatory techniques for female competitors as describes in the competitions rules. The winner is the person who has the highest number of points. When there’s a draw each competitor can select 1 technique and change the number of boards to change his score, or use the same number of boards and try to successfully break it in the case of an unsuccessful attempt. A time slot for power-breaking will be determined before the event. A competitor must compete during this time slot, missing the time slot means you are disqualified for the category. Team-event There will not be a team sparring tournament this year, we will hoever have a team event. At the Open Dutch 2018 two teams existing of both male and female international top athletes will compete against each other. The invite for this event will happen on a personal basis, however if you feel you should be part of the team do not hesitate to reach out to Master Willy van de Mortel [email protected] as he will personally extend the invites. Umpires Must wear : Navy blue/black pants, white shirt, blue/black tie, white shoes. License : Umpires are obliged to show their umpire license on the day of competition. Every club/team must bring umpires. If no umpire is provided there will be a fine of € 75,- for every missing umpire. Up to 7 competitors : 1 umpire 8 till 15 competitors : 2 umpires 16 competitor’s or more : 3 umpires Coaches Also this year we have the competition into 2 halls (A and B & C & D) and for that reason we allow more coaches than previous years. Coaches are allowed in both hall’s. Competing gyms are allowed to have the following number of coaches: 1 - 7 competitors : 2 coaches 8 - 15 competitors : 4 coaches 15 - 20 competitors : 5 coaches 20 competitors or more : 6 coaches Must wear : Tracksuit, white sneakers and towel Minimum age : 16 years

General rules ü Semi-contact sparring (individual) I.T.F Taekwon-Do rules a. 1 point awarded for all hand techniques b. 2 points awarded for foot technique to the body c. 3 points awarded for foot technique to the head ü Knock-out system will be used for both sparring and patterns ü Competitors can only wear white ITF doboks Information can be found on: http://www.tkd-itf.org/pagina.php?idpag=1169&web=47&lng=3 Protest on the day of the tournament needs to be in writing, within 5 minutes after the incident, at the tournament organization committee. € 50,- has to be paid in advance. The head umpire will decide on the validity of the protest. Safety equipment ü Head protectors are mandatory for EVERYBODY ü Shin protectors are allowed (soft material only) ü Open hand & feet protection. (no boxing gloves allowed) ü When in doubt on the day of competition the head umpire will decide whether certain protectors are allowed or not. ü Mouth protection are mandatory for all competitors. ü Groin protection are mandatory for all male competitors. In case of a doubt the head umpire will make a decision. Subscription fee 1 category (sparring or pattern or power-breaking) : € 25,- 2 categories (sparring or pattern or power-breaking) : € 35,- 3 categories (sparring and pattern and power-breaking) : € 45,- Overall-class sparring junior & senior (extra) : € 10,- Entrance fee for spectators 0 -10 yrs : Free of costs 11 yrs and higher : € 5,- Liability The tournament organization can’t be held liable for injuries on the day of the tournament due to irresponsible actions. Subscribing to this competition means that you agree to this rule. We highly recommend competitors to bring their identification papers to the tournament in case of injury. Dutch hospitals will ask for these papers.

Press and promotion material Promotion material (e.g. banners, flags) is strictly reserved for the organization. Other promotional material is not allowed. Filming is only allowed from the stands. Coaches and staff of the Open Dutch are allowed for photographing in the competition area. Photographing by competitors is only allowed behind the fences. All official photographs can be found after the tournament at: www.open-dutch.nl and on our facebook page. Draw The draw will published before the tournament on the website of the Open Dutch ( www.open-dutch.nl ). For that reason, it will not be possible to make any changes on the day of competition. Coaches please validate that your students have provided the correct height and/or weight, so that they don’t get disappointed on the day of the tournament!

Registration and important dates For registration, we use an online system. In order to register, access needs to be requested on the website itself: https://www.sportdata.org/ please note that it takes 1 day to provide access, so request this timely. Participation in a Master Series Tournament for non ITF schools, teams or participants (GM Trajtenberg / ITF Benidorm) are on an invite only basis. The organization reserves the right to refuse teams, schools or participants who are not a member. For more information we refer to the ITF By-Laws: (http://www.taekwondoitf.org/rules/#constitution-and-bylaws). When your account is enabled by the administrator, you are able to register and change registration details when needed. Friday 3rd of November 2017: The online registration system will open. Tuesday 16th of January 2018: 23:59 the online registration system will close. Wednesday 17th of January 2018: The invoice will be send by email. Friday 19th of January 2018: First draft of the schedule and draw lists will be

published online. Saturday 20st of January 2018: The full fee which is written in the invoice must be

received on our bank account. Tuesday 23th of January 2018: 23:59 last option for make corrections or changes

(Name, Age, Gender, Division, Category ....) for an amount of 20,00 € per change. All changes has to asked by email and must confirmed by email from the organizer. Only confirmed changes are registered. All fee´s for changes must be paid in cash on the day of competition.

Thursday 25th of January 2018: Final schedule and draw lists will be published. No changes anymore after 24th of January.

ü Retraction of registration is possible without a fine if done up on or before Tuesday 16th

of January 2018. After this date inscription fee has to be paid. ü Errors made in the registration which lead to a change in the division of a competitor

can’t be changed as the draw is place online and final. ü By registering to this competition you agree with all mentioned obligations. Attention!
