About the College:

SDM College, Ujire was established in 1966

with a view to provide quality higher

Rathnavarma Heggade, then Dharmadhikari

of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala. Under the

visionary leadership of Dr. D Veerendra

Heggade, the present Dharmadhikari of Sri

Back Ground of the Seminar:

The globalization process has allowed the

multinational companies to function in the

Indian sub-continent. When a MNC comes

to India and start its operations, it creates

challenges especially in financial reporting.

Each country is governed by its own Generally

Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and

the Accounting Standards.

The very purpose of financial reporting is

to communicate the financial results and

financial position to the stake holders. The

existence of multiple formats and

accounting treatment has paved the way

for debate on setting up of accounting

standards both at National and

International level.

In this background, this InternationalSeminar is envisaged to deliberate on

Ethical issues in Financial Reporting, the

dimensions of Corporate Governance and

the formulation of International Financial

Reporting Standards.

Objectives of the Seminar:

professionals about the changing

scenario of business practices.
