In the Arab countries, both private sector involvement and government expenditures in the health sector are steadily rising. This particularly applies to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), where the healthcare market will grow by an average of twelve percent annually and rise to a market volume of 71.3 billion US dollars by 2020. This is due to strong population growth, rising income levels in the region, as well as to the ambitious governmental efforts to modernize and expand the healthcare systems.The increasing demand for modern standards and efficient solutions opens up a promising field of activity for German companies and institutions in the health sector.
In order to further promote and encourage the promising cooperation between German and Arab partners in the health sector, the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with high- profile partners from Germany and the Arab World, will host the 10th Arab-German Health Forum at Hotel Adlon-Kempinski in Berlin from March 22nd to 23rd, 2017 under the patronage of the governing mayor of Berlin, Mr. Michael Müller. Renowned German and Arab health experts from business, politics and science will review current trends and projects in the Arab countries and Germany.
The Forum provides an excellent platform to discuss potential opportunities for business cooperation and to initiate new business endeavors with around 300 high-ranking decision-makers. The focus in this year’s Forum will be on the topics Medical Tourism, Healthcare Solutions for Medical Centers, Healthcare in the GCC Countries, Pharma Industry, Medical Technology and IT as well as Challenges in the Healthcare Sector.
