This document outlines the formal training matrix of the Bailiwick of Guernsey investment industry. It has been constructed by the Investment Education Forum, a group comprised of representatives from the investment sector, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and the GTA University Centre. The matrix will be subject to regular review to take into account new qualifications and comments from the investment industry. The training matrix is intended to be used for guidance only and should not be interpreted as a statement of mandatory qualifications for the industry as a whole. The purpose of the document is merely to enable employees and their organisations to chart a path through the wide range of Professional Programme qualifications available. Note that ongoing training in anti-money laundering, IT and Continuing Professional Programme Development is not mentioned explicitly below, although it is expected that training in these areas will be provided for all employees as needed. Note also that during the course of a career in the investment industry, an individual is likely to move through more than one of the broad functional areas described in the matrix.
