Mitigation Breakwater and the groyne will be built before any dredging activity is carried out. Less rocks dumped during the early stages of the construction of the break water, this will increase gradually to enable water organisms become used to the change that would be occurring in their habitatDredged soil will not be disposed off at sea It will be used as fill on the onshore siteOil monitors will be placed on vessels to monitor discharge and keep record of oil content to verify effective controls are in place.

Vessels and dredging contractors will ensure that collision is avoided and a distance of 100m is maintained between sea mammals and vessels

Fuel will be stored in a location dedicated for this purpose and tanks well-covered to avoid rain water from entering the bund.
