INVENTORS AND INVENTIONS

• We are going to learn a bit more about daily life inventions and their inventors. • You are going to make a glog about an invention or an inventor.• Work in groups of 3-4 members and make sure each member has a definite task.• Due date for your glogs: 30th April

INVENTORS AND INVENTIONS Obligatory media in your glog:

• Images: pictures related to your inventor and his invention.• Text: write short paragraphs about the inventor.• Audio: you must tell the rest the reason for your choice,

what made your inventor famous…• Video: upload a short video in English about or related to

your inventor.• Link: include a link to a website in English about your

inventor.

• You can choose an inventor or an invention from the sites suggested or you can surf the Web on your own.

• Focus on daily life inventions rather than on well-known inventions.

• Do not copy from the Internet or use a translator.• Surf only webpages in English.• Make use of the structures and vocabulary studied so far.• Do not use words you can’t understand.• Do not include too much boring data nobody will read.

Be concise and precise.

• Why did the object first come about? Did someone set out to make it, or did an accident inspire the inventor?

• Through what stages did the object develop? What caused changes in the object over time?

• How did the everyday object in question affect the way people behave?

• What is the economic impact of the object? That is, how many are made each year, and how many people are involved in making it?

Your glog will be evaluated on the following aspects:• Visual aspect: Presentation, originality.• Use of all the obligatory media: video, audio, text…• Content: information included in your glog, ability to

digest all the data found in your search.• Use of English: use of structures and vocabulary

appropriate to your level.• Accuracy: correctness in your oral and written texts.
