Student Voice Matters: Students Pro-pose New Clubs and ActivitiesArgyle students have a voice in their learn-ing both before and after school. Last year students advocated and started new clubs including a tennis club, a chess club. The SGA at Argyle is very active. Students hae a voice in our magnet focus and curriculum.

Argyle Students Continue to Bring Home Awards from Many ContestsMore than one hundred students participated in contests and competitions including the Montgom-ery Science Fair, Johns Hopkins Robotics Challenge, Video Game Design Competitions, and Code.org competitions. Students such as Ryan Halli, Dominic Manzella, Hirshecl Nambiar, Reynald Oliveria, Alison Neirotti, Ashna Bhatia, and Sadia Nourin received major awards and recognition at various competi-tions this year! Argyle students work closely with staff and professionals in the field as consultants during their preparation for competitions. Each year Argyle students compete and win at major science and tech-nology competitions!

Argyle Has Award Winning Staff, Amazing Front Office Staff that are a Bilingual Sup-port of Our Community!Teacher Ginger Berry is this year’s Marian Greenblatt Rising Star award recipient, and Lisa Bligen is this years Support Services Employee of the Year. James Paterson, former Counselor of the Year, is also an Ar-gyle staff member! Argyle has a great front office and counseling staff that speak Spanish and can help our community answer questions, speak with teachers, counselors, administrators, and help fill out paper-work. Ask an Argyle parent how helpful they are!

Argyle Obtains Grant for CoursesArgyle was awarded a $15,000 grant from the Armed Forces Commuications and Electronics Association Educational Foundation, a nonprofit committed to providing educational opportunities in STEM. The grant will go towards Argyle’s innovative technology courses.

Attracting Girls to STEMSTEM courses traditionally have a disproportionate number of male students. Argyle is trying to change that. Argyle offers programs that are

highly engaging and of great inter-est. More than 150 females have signed up for Programming Fun-damentals this year. Check out the video games they made on our website!
