*Have the courage to take risks and prepare to fail*
*There’s nothing wrong with out-growing your people*
*Education, teamwork, motivation, communication*
*Focus is key – don’t think if it works here that it will work somewhere else*
*Once you’ve done it, do it again*
High-Growth Firms (HGFs)1 are a very small proportion of UK
businesses population (~11,000 firms) yet they have a
disproportionate impact on job creation.
Typically, over any three year period from 1998-2016, high growth
SMEs represent less than 1% of established businesses, but
generate 20% of all job growth
PROFESSOR MARK HART, ASTON BUSINESS SCHOOL, ENTERPRISE RESEARCH CENTRE
1 OECD definition - annual average growth of 20% in employment over the three year period

PROFILES
Nick Chadaway DMN Logistics I have spent most of my working life around vehicles! I started my career with a short stint in a tin can factory, but quickly realised I wasn’t really an Engineer – but loved the challenge of Logistics. I moved into the vehicle delivery industry, and it was here that I met my current business partners, Des and Mike. After working together for a number of years we started DMN Logistics in 2011, where I am the MD. I have a background in IT and Finance so look after these functions on a day to day basis, along with anything else that running your own business entails. I enjoy the challenges that managing a young and innovative company brings and I
genuinely look forward to going to work each day! Away from the office I have a great little family, with my wife and young son keeping me motivated and grounded with what’s really important in life. I’m a bit of an obsessive character and like to run, this year I’m hoping to complete two 50 mile challenge events and try and improve on my overall fitness while raising some pennies for the charity MIND along the way.
SCHEDULE
* To allow flexibility all additional workshops (highlighted in blue) will be run twice on the day in question generally from 13:00-16:00 and 16:30-19:30. Please inform Faye Oliver of your preferred time for planning purposes: [email protected]
