Markings ofUL
How does a Classification differ from a Listing?
The Listing service applies to products investigated by
UL for reasonably foreseeable hazards and is usuallyfound on consumer products. UL Classification service
is a more extensive evaluation. Under this service, ULevaluates products with respect to certain hazards, limitations or safety conditions of performance.Classification service is primarily for the guidance of
inspection authorities, commercial and industrial users, and is generally notapplicable to consumer products.
