• A user-friendly web application to help parents frequently track their children’s progress in school

• Allows for easy communication between parents and teachers.

• Allows parents to easily request updates to their child’s personal information and family contacts.

Custodial Parents: How to get access

• Complete a Parent Assistant Account Request • Present proper photo identification along with the request at

your youngest child’s school.– NC Driver License– DMV Picture ID– Credit Union Picture ID– Passport– Military ID

• Meet with appropriate personnel (data manager) at your youngest child’s school to obtain your username and password.

Non-Custodial Parents: How do you get access?

• Complete a Parent Assistant Account Request at your child’s school

• Present proper photo identification along with application at your youngest child’s school.

– NC Driver License– DMV Picture ID– Credit Union Picture ID– Passport– Military ID

• You will be contacted within 10 school days about your request

• If application is accepted, you will receive your access information in the mail.

• Meet with appropriate personnel (data manager) at your child’s school to obtain your username and password. You will have a separate username and password for each child.

Logging into PAM• Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields.

(IMPORTANT: Usernames and Passwords are case sensitive.)• Use the language button to select the language in which you

would like your PAM to display.• Click the LOGIN button at the bottom.

Accessing Your Students

• The first screen that appears after logging into the PAM is the CURRENT PROGRESS screen.

• The Current Progress screen is considered the default page for the Parent Assistant program.

• If you get a Pop-up Blocker message, please allow Pop-ups from this site.

Academic Progress: Current Progress

Total Cumulative Grade: is the grade over several marking periods Current Average: is the grade of the current marking period

• To view your child’s schedule, click on the “Student Schedule” button located at the top right of the screen next to the Log Off button.

Accessing Your Students

• If you have more than one student attending a Pender County School, you can click on the dropdown arrow next to the student’s name to view your other child’s information.

• Select a student from the dropdown list and click the “Display” button. This function is available on ALL screens.

Navigating Parent Assistant

To navigate PAM, move your mouse over the categories listed below General Info, Current Activity, Academic Progress, Messages, or Miscellaneous. Each of these provides sub-categories to choose from. To view the sub-category, click on the title.

General Information: Password• To change your Password, choose General Info

Change Password• Key Current Password, then your new password

twice. Click ok. • Passwords are case sensitive and do not expire.

• The Current Activity menu allows you to navigate to your student’s attendance.

• The attendance screen for elementary/ middle schools is different from high schools.

• Elementary/middle schools use daily attendance; high schools use period attendance.

Academic Progress: Assignments • To view assignments, choose Academic Progress

Assignments.• This screen will provide a list of assignments that your student

in grade 3 or higher has been assigned by his/her teachers.

Academic Progress: AssignmentsThe Calendar button is used to change the date.

These buttons determine the order of the assignment by course or by due date.

The Details button provides more information for each assignment.

Academic Progress: Credits Earned•To view Credits Earned to Date, choose Academic Progress Credits Earned to Date•This screen provides a list of courses taken, credits received, and marks earned for previous school years.

Marks/Grades.• This screen will provide you with a report card view of your

student’s marks/grades for the current school year.• Grades are not available for grades K – 2 in Pender County Schools.

Miscellaneous: Non-School Days• To view a list of the dates that school will NOT

be in session for the current year, please select Miscellaneous Non-School Days.

• Transportation and Lunch Menu is not used in Parent Assistant by Pender County Schools. Lunch Menus are available at http://www.pendercountyschools.net/

• Address change requests require a Proof of Residency be submitted to the child’s school

• Teachers update grades for assignments each Monday
