The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as the Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the Internet.
Among other things, these networks allow us to research, communicate, apply for jobs, handle financial business, and network from any device with Web-browsing capability.
Getting the Word to the World
Popular Web browsers include Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox.

Save As… • Left-click on “File”
in your first toolbar• Click “Save As”• Choose the file you
want to save your work in and rename the file.
• Click on “Save”
To Create a New Folder:
1. Left-click on the “New Folder” icon
2. Type the name you want for the folder
Why do we use “Save As” instead of “Save”?
Using “Save As” allows you to make changes or create a
different version of the current document. For example, you will often need to tweak your original resume to fit each job you apply to. “Save As” allows you to do
this while maintaining your original version.

Page Margins
• To set your page margins, left-click “File” in your first toolbar
• Scroll down to “Page Setup”
• Left-click on “Margins”
• Using the arrows, change the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right sections to .06”.
• By doing this, you create more room in your document, freeing up several lines for more text. You will use this to create more space and keep your resume on one page.

Toolbars
If you need to add or remove tool bars, right click in the light blue area in your upper right hand corner. A shortcut menu will appear – simply left-click the toolbar(s) you want to add/remove.
We suggest always keeping the “Standard,” “Formatting,” and “Drawing”
toolbars open.

your CAPS LOCK on, you do not have to re-type everything!
• Simply highlight the sentence and left click on “Format” in your first tool bar.
• Now left-click on “Change Case.”
• Click on the circle next to “Sentence Case” and click on the “ok” button.

2. Delete (from your keyboard) the “Create Drawing Here” box
3. Hold down your left-click and drag the line across the page. DO NOT let go of your left-click until you have the line where you want it

Quick Save
• Now that you have performed “Save As,” you should periodically “Quick Save” as you continue working.
• Left-click the “Quick Save” button—it looks like a blue disk.
• It looks like nothing happened, but your information has been saved.

Split Screen1. Click “Restore Down”
2. Adjust the window from the sides or bottom. You know you can adjust the window when you see a pyramid of dots in the bottom right corner.
3. If you minimize and reshape two windows you can compare them side by side. This is important for organization and is a useful tool for presentations.

Go to www.gmail.com and log into your e-mail Google Docs allows you to save and share documents and
presentations online Instead of having to e-mail attachments to yourself and
others, you are saving documents on the internet. This is a handy tool not only for your organization, but if you
are collaborating on something with others, you can see that changes being made in real time.
Click the “Documents” tab in Google.

•To open a new document, click the “New” tab and select the type of file you want to open (document, presentation, etc.)

To share a document with others, click the “Share” tab and select “Invite People.”
Choose who you want to share with and what role you want them to play. Select if you want them to be editors or only viewers. Editors can make changes to your document while viewers can only see them.
Your main page will show you which documents are shared.
