NOC

Network Operation Center (NOC) is a department whichobserve network, trace and detect problem via NMS (Network

management system) and escalate to field engineers (FLM).

NOC is responsible for over all network performance. Their 

main goal is to inform concern people timely about any

problem encounter in network, facilitate them during trouble

shooting

NOC Security:

Scope of work

This section is responsible for security of the network

They do not allow irrelevant person to enters site

To access any site you must have valid Work order no or 

Trouble ticket

To enters any site for O&M activity site guard ask NOC

security team to allow or disallow. NOC team ask for WO no

or TT no. check it in the data base. If its valid then, enter his

name, company name and time into database and allows theperson to work

If WO# or TT # are not valid then teams are not allow to

work

NOC BSS

This section is responsible to monitor BSS part of Network

 This section monitors Alarms, status of site, BSC and MSC’s 

If any problem found inform concern people about the problem

and follow up the progress.

Facilitate Field Engineers about the current status of site

Inform and coordinate with NOC Transmission team if any

problem related to transmission occur

NOC Transmission:

This section is responsible to monitor Transmission part of 

Network

This section monitors Alarms, status of Links, Optical

connectivity

If any problem found inform concern people about the problem

and follow up the progress.

Facilitate Field Engineers about the current status of links,

media clearance

NEC NOC

NEC NOC could be consider is a sub part of TP NOC

Transmission.

NEC NOC team is responsible for NEC Network

NEC NOC consist of further sub section i.e. SLM Team and

NMS Team

NMS Team

NMS team handle NMS network related problems,responsible for NMS network design, implementation and

maintenance.

SLM Team

SLM team monitor NEC Microwave network, collect andobserve daily LPM, monitor alarms, trace problems,

initiate corrective action by informing concern person and

Provide technical assistance to field engineers and

technician

SLM team is responsible to maintain network KPI with

collaboration of NEC O&M, planning and other concern

departments

Procedure

Introduce your self to site guard

Call NOC Security

Tell them purpose visit and give them reference Wo no

Let NOC security to talk with guard

 After completing activity note down required information in

IN/OUT register at site Call NOC Security, inform them that you are leaving site.

Site Access Procedure

There is a proper in/out procedure at site. To enters site one

must have valid Work order no or Trouble ticket no
