• Scalability implies how dependent the solution is on hardware and supporting software to deploy it on different platforms and formats.

• Platform Independent implies mobile & cross platform solutions ( Mac/Win/Lin/Web), that are Locally synchronized with a web presence (on and offline).

Characteristics & Implications

• Using true modern web standard formats for information (preserving options to ensure ).

• Ownership and Control- if information is brought to web or platform in an unprotected format or made unintentionally freely available, value is decreased and greatly affects digital liquidity.

• True standards means no single company holds the keys to the format ( implying often open source and other global hardware/industry wide standards).
