Introduction Throughout this semester, for our microprocessor class we had given a task based on innovations using adruino kits. For introduction, adruino is an open source computer hardware and software company that manufacture kits for building digital device, such as programmed robotic device. Their provided kits are very user friendly and widely used around the world. Their systems provided with sets of digital and analog I/O pins that can be interfaced to extension boards and other circuits. Meanwhile, the board also included with USB ports on some models. This feature is for loading programs from personal computers. As for programming the microcontrollers, the Arduino platform provides an integrated development environment (IDE) based on the Processing project, which includes support for C and C++ programming languages. By using this adruino kits, which is in our project we used Adruino Uno and a few other mechanical devices and prop, our group decided to create an alarm clock called The Smart Alarm. The function of this particular alarm clock is just the same like any other ordinary alarm clock but was added with a few special features which are water pump and blue tooth sensors. It is proven that the fastest way to wake up someone from their sleep is by splashing water onto their face. By using this Smart Alarm, when the alarm buzzers, it will send a signal through the adruino and power up the water pump. Then, the water pump will pump water from provided source and squirt it to user’s face through a nozzle. Thus, it is very effective

ObjectiveThere are five particular objectives that our group set to achieve upon completion this project.1. To learn and understand the basic function of adruino kits.2. To fabricate a mechanical-electrical device that can relate with adruino software and hardware.3. To train ourselves in working as a unit of engineers-to-be.4. To professionally manage the group budget by wisely spending on adruino kits and other parts. 5. To awake the inventive and innovative skills upon ourselves.

ConclusionAs conclusion, we can say that the objective has been achieved. The main purpose of this project is to learn the basic step in fabricating a mechanical-electrical product using adruino kits. Through this project, our group managed to fabricate a product called Smart Alarm. This particular smart alarm used a specific adruino kit which is adruino uno. We manage to learn how to operate the hardware and software and combined them with a few standard and mechanical parts to create a functional alarm that can spray out water to effectively wakes the user from a deep sleep. Besides, this project also had trained us to work as a unit of engineers-to-be. We divided our teams into a few small groups and branches and given a specific task for each to complete. We also train our self in managing budget during the buying process of the adruino kits and other parts. As engineers, we should be able to spent least in cost but still able to fabricate a well-functioning product. Other than that, the purpose of this project also to awake the inventive and innovative skills by designing and fabricating new ideas. Thus, we successfully completed the project for this microprocessor subject of this semester.
