City Structure Hunt: Idea

• Architecture project in small groups:• Explore Zoetermeer• Analyze architecture• Compare and contrast the architecture with their home countries• Evaluate and find shortcomings• Develop ideas for improvements• Final presentation afterwards

• 3 days to complete project• Groups receive maps of Zoetermeer with interesting structures to be

explored

City Structure Hunt: Purpose

• To encourage teamwork with people from different nationalities• To encourage creative and critical thinking• To encourage acculturation through a common interest:

• Architecture• To explore the architecture in Zoetermeer

City Structure Hunt: Day 1 (Data Collection)

● Introductory Lecture

● 40 groups ( 5 students / group )

● Get to the destination with the maps (bike, bus or walking)

● Explore the architectures and compare with your home countries

City Structure Hunt: Day 2-3 (Data Processing)

• Evaluate the data gathered on the 1st day.• Brainstorming session for new ideas.• Compare and contrast the architecture from their home countries.• Analyze the shortcomings of their structure and think of solutions.• Prepare a product/graphic of the improved plan.• Prepare a presentation.
