Introduction Problems of Castings R+D Assortment Registrations Summary VICONTEX Ltd. has been developing and producing steel containers’ elements since 1990 with special focus on corner fittings. Aim of its activity is to eliminate disadvantages of traditional containers and to prevent losses and casualties caused by damaged old style corner fittings. Our patented technology allows to substitute old style steel castings with micro-alloyed fine-grain material fittings. Research and Development I. (R+D)
Analyses of several years shows that old style technology (castings) do not meet all requirements necessary for up-to-date transport operations like lifting up or moving forward.

Instead of normal compressing stress of 20 t we used of 300 t on the sample-piece and the banded and welded edges remained intact and the piece was not broken.
New material and technology was developed able to wear several times bigger load than usual - without crack or fracture.
During development we followed requirements of international standards for sizes and loads.
Requirements of quality insurance and environmental protection are living integrated into technology.
Final examinations were made and documented by laboratory of AGMI Hungary.

Our product range follows international standards (ISO, EURO, UIC) and contains special elements like light corner fitting and special fittings for defence industry.
Our products do not require any additional processing like heat treatment.

As a result of our R+D activity a corner fitting family was born that contains elements of smaller weight with higher quality for safe use all over the world. This technology also allows of cost effective production in big series.
