INDIAN MISSILE Indian pursued the integrated guided missile
development program (IGMDP) which was an Indian
Ministry of defence program for the development of a comprehensive range of missiles
this includes Intermediate range Agni missile (surface to surface) Short range missile such as the prithvi Akash missile (surface to air) Trisul missile (surface to air) Nag missile (anti tank)
![Page 6: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
WHAT IS A GUIDED MISSILE• Guided missile are self-propelled, unmanned space or air vehicle
carrying an explosive warhead• Its path can be adjusted during flight either by automatically
self-contained controls or remote human control • The guided missile were first development in their military form
by the the German who in world war2 employed v-1 ND V-2 Missile against great brighten and the low country
• Guided missile are of various types and range .• Missile may be aerodynamic is-controlled by aerodynamics
surface and following a straight-line trajectory to the target • Ballistic missile ie-powered during flight and following a
parabolic trajectory long –range missile generally have nuclear warheads while short-range missile usually have high-explosive warhead
![Page 7: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
AERODYNMIC MISSILE• Aerodynamic missile are of four type • Air to air missiles- are fired by aircraft enemy aircraft and
often guided by self contained controls that detect and target the missile toward heat source
• Surface to air missile-usually operate against aircraft or other missile
• Air to surface missile –launched by aircraft against ground position, are generally radio-controlled
• Surface to surface missile-(included ship submarine launched version)
• Cruise missile-which are launched like a missile but use flip out wings and turbofan engine to fly like an airplane to the target at altitude ,either air to surface 0r surface to surface missile
![Page 8: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
BALLISTIC MISSILE• All long-range missile are ballistic missile • The intermediate-range ballistic missile
(IRBM)can reach target up to 1,500 nautical miles away
• The intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM)has a range of many thousand of miles
• An antiballistic ballistic missile (ABM) is designed to detect and intercept enemy ballistic missile
• A ballistic missile trajectory consist of tree part• Ballistic missile can be launch from fixed sites or
mobile launcher (transporter erector launcher)
![Page 9: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)

INTERMEDIATE- RANGE BALLISTIC MISSILE
AGNI 2 : agni-2 has a range of 2000-3000Km has a length of 20 meter, diameter of one meter and weight around 17 tonnes its has 2 stage both solid propellant They are claimed to be a part of the "credible deference”
against china and coward Pakistan AGNI 3 : agni-23 a (IRBM) was developed by India as
success to Agni 2 with the range of 3500 to 5000Km AGNI 4 : it is missile was earlier known as Agni 2 prime
Agni 4 was testing on nov 15 ,2011 wheeler island state of Orissa its range is 2,500-3,500km

INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE
AGNI 5 :Agni 5 is a solid fuelled ICBM under development by DRDO. Its greatly expand India reach to sticke targets up to 6000km away The Agni 5 is a three stage solid fuelled
missile with composite motor casing in the third stage, this is carries forward the agni-3 pedigree
Advance technologies like Ring Lager Gyroscope and accelerometer used in this missile
![Page 13: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
HYPERSONIC BOOST GUIDE MISSILE
SURYA MISSIE :its a SRSSBM developed by DRDO for use by INDIAN ARMY a hypersonic version of the missile which is under development a speed of 5 to 7.5 MACH It has a range of 600km and is capable of carrying a
payload of one tonne conventional nuclear The Surya missile provided indai with a significant
second strike capability Surya missile is considered a land version of the SAGARIKA
![Page 14: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
CRUISE MISSILE A cruise missile is a guided missile that
carries an explosive payload and is propelled usually by a jet engine, toward a land based or sea based target
They are distinct from unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)in that they are used only as weapon and not for reconnaissance
![Page 15: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
CRUSISE MISSILE BRAHMOS : Brahmos is a super sonic cruise missile that can be launched from
sub marines, ship, aircraft or land Its travels at speed of Mach 2.5 to 2.8 and is the words faster cruise missile Its has two stage propulsion system, with a solid-propellent rocket for initial
acceleration and a liquid fuelled ramjet responsible for sustained supersonic cruise
P-70 AMETHIST : India has soviet p-70 amities submarine launched anti ship cruise missile
P-270 MOSKIT :the p-270 musket is a Russian supersonic ramjet powered cruise missile capable of being launched from land and ships India brought around 200 KLUB missile and now its is believed that musket have been kept in reserve but can still be used.
NIRBHAY : nirbhay is a long range ,subsonic cruise missile is developed in INDIA it range have 1000km and a arm three service THE INDIAN ARMY,INDIAN NAVY,THE INDIAN AIR FORCE
Nirbhay able to be launched from multiple platform on land, sea and air
![Page 16: Introduction of indian defence](https://reader035.fdocuments.in/reader035/viewer/2022081419/587740ac1a28ab342e8b6b4f/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)

BALLISTIC MISSILE DEFENSE (BMD) DRDO is developing a two-tier ballistic misssile
defence (bmd) system that provided a multilayered shield against ballistic missile attacks
An advantage version of the Bmd system was test fired in 2011 the first phase (2000Km radius )became operational in 2012 and the second phase will became operational in 2016(5000Km) it will be having a 99.8% probability of striking the missile
The two-tier system is intended to destroyed an incoming missile at high altitude, in the exo-atmosphere
