In Europe, members of fib (The
International Federation for Structural
Concrete) created the MC2010 (Model

on Concrete Model Code for Asia), and
the design concept for ACMC is the PBD

About ACMC
Performance Based Design (PBD)
-Concept
Requirements on safety, serviceability and
durability for RC structure should be defined
clearly.
Performance of designed structure should be
satisfied required performance by structural
analysis or experiments.

About ACMC
The PBD concept specifies only required performance, which should be internationally common, but verification method for required performance, which may be different internationally.
The ACF has to be to provide Asian countries an opportunity to use ACMC in designing concrete structures, in the process of recognizing the competence of ACMC.
Asian Concrete Model Code (ACMC) is the first international code in Asia, the first structural code with performance-based design (PBD) concept and the first structural code covering maintenance and repair.
