This project is intended to introduce you to the principles of design and production for animation with an emphasis on ideas and creativity.

The main objective for this assignment is for you to design and produce a 1-2 minute stop motion animation depending on your chosen style

.It is also intended to make you resourceful in finding suitable subject matter, research material and developing your ideas fully at the planning stage.

Animation enables you to explore your personal response to the art of the impossible, exploring sound, movement and colour and imagination

For this assignment you will need to undertake research, pre-production, design work, production, and post production. In addition, audience responses/feedback is an important element of this assignment.

All work for this assignment will be digitized, therefore you will not use a presentation folder for this assignment

.You have already created ‘WordPress’ accounts and you will use this web space to present all of your work. This should be bookmarked on your computer

Work that is not done on a computer will need to be scanned and uploaded to your ‘WordPress ‘

All the information regarding what you need to do for this assignment is contained on my WordPress, which you all should have access to.

You will not be given a hand-out brief for this assignment as it is on my WordPress home page, although if you want a hard copy it can be downloaded from there.

.This assignment will run for 5 weeks, although some days we may need to cover other assignment requirements.

You are responsible for all material contained on your WordPress Page / or not!

The beauty of using ‘WordPress’ is that you can share information with your peers, you can leave comments on written, imagery, video material. For this to be possible you must add them

With WordPress, you can upload video and imagery to support your own comments

.Additionally, I will have access to your page to see how you are progressing and offer you support with your work

This WordPress page should look professional by the time you have finished the assignment and it then can be used as a great portfolio tool

In addition, you will begin to understand alternative methods of animation and the complexities contained within each of them

.After your first week you will be aware of the many different types of Stop Motion and will be expected to discuss each of them

You will be expected to complete homework and also face deadlines for this work. Failure to meet deadlines will affect your grade

Information regarding Research

All research work does not have to be written. You can choose to record it into a field recorder via Microphone, video camera, PowerPoint etc. Although it must be uploaded to your WordPress site

These alternative methods of presenting your research have advantages over written work, for example…

•Video and PowerPoint presentations could include a relevant audio track, use video clips and stills

•Audio presentations could include a soundtrack
