Seiden Health Management (SHMI) has partnered with the American Academy of Disability

Evaluating Physicians (AADEP), with the endorsement of the Canadian Society of Medical Examiners

(CSME), to bring you an authoritative program on conducting assessments in accordance with the

American Medical Association guides (AMA Guides). This one day course will introduce you to the

core Guides principles and their use for rating whole person impairment and impairment due to

    mental or behavioural disorders.

New SABS amendments are taking effect on June 1 of this year. The amendments change how

mental health disorders are rated for the purposes of catastrophic impairment evaluations. Expert

AADEP educators will take you through how assessments must be done to comply with the

requirements of the new SABS. Whether you are conducting SABS assessments, deciding whether

to refer your client for catastrophic status, or reading CAT assessment reports, this seminar will

provide you with the necessary tools.

AADEP was formalized in 1986 to teach unique skills and techniques required to perform special

medical evaluations. Today, AADEP is the premier educator on the techniques necessary to perform

impairment ratings based on the AMA Guides, treatment of industrial related conditions, prevention

of the disastrous disability cascade, surgical treatment of back pain, the science of bone and soft

tissue healing, and performing return to work evaluations that place the injured person in a physical

demand Category of work, based on the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT).

AADEP has developed educational materials and courses for medical professionals, the insurance

industry, the legal field, and governmental organizations. The Fellows of AADEP come from a wide

variety of medical specialties. Many State Workers' Compensation Systems use AADEP as the

teaching organization for their healthcare providers. AADEP is the only medical specialty

organization that is wholly dedicated to teaching healthcare professionals. With an outstanding

national group of experienced faculty, they teach all of the medical and legal aspects surrounding the

care of the injured worker. Information on AADEP is at: http://www.aadep.org/
