TESTIMONIALS
“Today I discussed in the group what my life was like in Bangladesh and how I need to take care of myself. I just
realized that I am not only a mother and ex wife of a man I am a human being and I deserve to live well” – K.M.
Clients said they wanted to take the love, laughter, positivity, sense of community with them. And wanted
to leave regret, negativity, hurt, tears behind in the box.

There was a client who drew a simple picture and then she brought it to
life. She had drawn two flowers that represented her two boys, and herself in the middle. She had also drawn a sun and a storm. She tells the group
that she is wanting custody of her two sons, and there is a storm that is in her life. Though, through the storm there is a light from the sun that shines
upon her and her two sons.
NAVIGATE YOUR CITY
The latest community development program by Sakhi, aims to empower and unite survivors of
domestic violence. This social group, which meets every quarter, focuses on strengthening the links
between survivors and their community
The program is designed to introduce clients to New York City, its everyday life, and its famous landmarks.
With program involvement, we eventually aim to alleviate loneliness and
