THE ‘INTRODUCTION’

The first chapter of your report is normally given the title Introduction.

The introduction chapter should be written to engage the interest of the reader.

It is the place where you should, discuss the background of the study state and define the problem that you are trying

to address or solve state the aims and objectives of the project state the scope of the project

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

An introductory section to discuss the general field of the subject area from which your research is to be drawn.

You should give some explanation as to why it is important to do this project title and why it is of interest to you.

This section is the most important as in any research the establishment of one of the above represents the whole basis for completing the project.

Describe the problem/difficulty/situation that interests you.
