Introducing Centricity* RIS-i

In a healthcare environment where time and resources are at a premium, the ability to increase efficiency, whilst delivering the highest standard of patient care, has never been more key for healthcare.

Against this backdrop, GE Healthcare’s RadiologyInformation Systems (RIS) helps organisations to manage their radiology workflow in the most effective way. It can also provide them the breadth and depth of functionality to facilitate remote reporting, departmental productivity monitoring and management of multi-disciplinary meetings while also being easily tailored to suit all workflows and user needs.

Centricity RIS-i is a scalable, configurable and modular Radiology workflow solution that can support the challenges of individual specialties, hospitals or entire health systems, both now and in the future.

Centricity RIS-i provides a streamlined workflow, advanced clinical tools and real-time insights contributing to increased productivity and reduced costs in radiology services across multiple departments, hospitals and organisations.

Automating access to informationCentricity RIS-i provides access to regional patient history across specialties and modalities, helping to save time and enabling more effective patient care. By seamlessly integrating with other IT platforms, RIS-i automatically populates critical data, eliminating duplication of data capture and re-dictation.

Critical alert management is optimised through the RIS with an intelligent workflow that provides customised notification to radiology stakeholders. This helps ensure that workload is prioritised based on need and contributes to improved turnaround for critical exams.

What is different about Centricity RIS-i solution?

• RIS-i helps to improve throughput, increasing departmental efficiency

• RIS-i facilitates collaboration between referring clinicians, radiologists and other experts in multiple locations

• RIS-i enables teleradiology and cross-site reporting across a healthcare community

• RIS-i supports intelligent scheduling and prioritisation of appointments and procedures

• RIS-i is intuitive and customisable to suit individual requirements and also to support the needs of the department

• RIS-i aids smooth scheduling with tools such as complex booking templates to ensure appropriate exam booking

Driving departmental efficiencyCentricity RIS-i provides patient tracking functionality with time stamps for recording key performance metrics. Radiology managers are provided with actionable data and reports that give an overview on department efficiency for

both internal and national reporting requirements. Enabling real-time performance monitoring within the RIS-i application allows managers to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks as they arise.

Centricity RIS-i also features powerful scheduling tools to facilitate paperless workflow by optimising departmental throughput and contributing to improved patient and staff experience. The Scheduler module uses an intelligent, rules-based platform for scheduling exams, including triple-vetting, exam linking, pending exams, intelligent appointment letters, complex booking and exam turnaround target dates. The paperless workflow eliminates the need for paper-based systems, providing greater access to information, minimising duplicate data entry and simplifying day-to-day management of complex Radiology departments.

With over 20 years of experience in delivering RIS solutions across more than 40 countries worldwide, GE Healthcare has developed an enhanced RIS solution which can help your organisation to address the need for more productivity and integrated collaborative care.

Enabling collaborationCloser collaboration with multi-disciplinary experts is one of the cornerstones to improving individual patient care. Centricity RIS-i includes an enhanced MDT Module that allows clinicians both inside and outside of the radiology department to add/remove patients from clinical conferences.

This enables Radiologists to have greater visibility of the patients to be discussed in MDT meetings and can proactively prepare expert insights.

The MDT module is run from the reporting screens with seamless front-end integration to PACS, giving the user access to all relevant radiology and regional (XDS) history for the patient. At the end of the MDT meeting, the Radiologist publishes the outcomes report to the Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA), making it accessible to all clinicians.

Integrating careThrough a tight integration with PACS and VNA, Centricity RIS-i provides unified access to the regional patient history. This integrates RIS with the broader community, enabling Radiologists to share images and XDS patient history with referrers and external specialists.

The reporting module RadCockpit provides an embedded XDS consumer showing documents and images from connected XDS repositories.
