Before we begin to explore the course, I believe it is important for you to get to know your colleagues. For this activity, design an introduction that allows your colleagues to learn a little bit about you. The introduction should include the following: (1) the educational context in which you currently work -where? for how long? future goals? previous degrees/training? current degree program?, etc. I am in my first semester the Proteach graduate school program. I received my AA degree from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL, and graduated from the University of Florida in May 2010 with my Bachelors in Education. I am planning to receive my Masters in Education from the University of Florida (with a specialization in educational technology) in May of 2011. (2) the reason(s) you are enrolled in this course (please don't say because it is required for your degree program; not only is that an undergraduate response but I think you will find other reasons if you try I chose to take this course because I believe that (3) previous experience (or lack thereof) with using technology/the Internet in your educational context I have minimal experience with smart boards and other technology other than computers. I have taken previous technology courses which have allowed me to improve my technological skills but much work is needed when it comes to such devices as smart boards and the like. Before we begin to explore the course, I believe it is important for you to get to know your colleagues. For this activity, design an introduction that allows your colleagues to learn a little bit about you. The introduction should include the following:

(1) the educational context in which you currently work -where? for how long? future goals? previous degrees/training? current degree program?, etc.

I chose to take this course because I believe that

(3) previous experience (or lack thereof) with using technology/the Internet in your educational context

I have minimal experience with smart boards and other technology other than computers. I have taken previous technology courses which have allowed me to improve my technological skills but much work is needed when it comes to such devices as smart boards and the like.

(4) anything you want us to know about you personally. -Family? Hobbies? Talents? Passions? Where you live? Where you are from? etc. This is voluntary; sharing personal information will never be required. However, it sure helps build community when folks are willing to share a bit about themselves.

I am from a small town called DeFuniak Springs located in the Panhandle, about 45 minutes away from Destin where I spend most of my time (when I am at home). I absolutely love the beach, which is why I hope to one day live very close to one (45 minutes isn’t close enough ). I enjoy watching as well as playing sports, especially volleyball. My favorite sports to watch are volleyball (indoor and beach), football and baseball. I have one sister who is a junior in high school and will hopefully be transferring to Kennesaw University in Georgia once she graduates; which is one reason I might be interested in getting a teaching job in GA.
