In this course, we are focusing on western analytic philosophy. The lack of clarity in continental philosophical ideas led to a movement which focused on achieving such clarity coupled with logic. This gave rise to the analytical style of philosophy. This style heavily focuses on the use of logic. Logic helps distinguish good from bad arguments, making it very important to the use pf philosophy. The above argument is an inductive one. It does not have a valid inference as it says all mammals have 2 legs. Furthermore, the content of the proposition, ‘all mammals have two legs’, is wrong. It attempts to show that dogs are likely to have two legs and that they probably follow that premise.
