MARKET WRAP
CHANA
Winter rains in growing areas facilitates the moisture content of the soil
leading to better production.
In the short term, price gains may be capped on positive reports of sowing
and fresh arrivals from Karnataka.
TURMERIC
Shortage of quality turmeric crop available with the stockists will provide
support to the prices in the short term if demand from the local stockists
arrives in good quantity.
Prices in short term will depend on demand from the domestic and overseas
buyers and growth of sown crop.
JEERA
Any vagaries in the weather in Jeera growing areas will provide support to the
prices in the short term. Too much cold and rains in the growing areas will
spoil the standing crop.
In the short term trend will depend on Jeera price parity of various origins in
international market and stocks of Jeera with local stockists.
PEPPER
Pepper of Indian origin being offered at higher rates are driving overseas
buyers to cheaper destinations. This may cap the upside in near term.
Pepper prices will depend on global Black pepper availability and demand
from the overseas and domestic market.
