Luke 23:46

And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last.

The life of surrender

And He *said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death; remain here and keep watch." And He went a little beyond them, and fell to the ground and began to pray that if it were possible, the hour might pass Him by. And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will."

(Mar 14:34-36 NASB)

What can we learn from Jesus?

• Is it ok to hurt, to feel wounded, to be at the place of being overcome?

• When all you know about God is tested, what do you do?

• When you are on a pathway that you do not want

• When the will of God is contrary to your will

Abba! Father! All things are possible for You

• Your relationship with your heavenly Father is being tested.

• You know God is able to do this differently

• You know God has the power to change things

"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. "But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image

that you have set up."

(Dan 3:17-18 NASB)

Remove this cup from Me

• What task or duty has the Lord given you that you are struggling with?

• Many say that if your assignment is not impossible, then it is not from God.

• The cost of loving God is costly indeed.

Choices, options are a part of following Christ. What you choose matters.

Not what I will, but what You will

• Surrender does not mean it is now “easier”, it is now decided.

• “Thy will be done” has been a part of our prayer life since Jesus.

Giving 100% of who your are to do 100% of what another desires if full surrender.

Leaving this life

• One day we too will leave this life.

• Our knowledge of God will be tested.

• Will God to take us through into eternal life?

• Will He truly forgive our sins?

• Will He help us in our hour of need?

• Does He understand what we are going through?
